Best Troop Types

Forondil is the first flying hero with cavalry and this is obviously his case, most of his kit resolves around cavalry so make sure to take cavalry with him and if you are playing the Springwarden faction you have to run the flying cavalry they have and nothing on the field will be save from you.

Best Hero Pairing for Forondil

Theodore

Emrys

Ffraegar
Ffraegar
Hosk
Hosk
Kregg
Kregg
Alistair
Alistair

Theia is a really good pair with Forondil as both are flying heroes, have a lot of synergy and with Theia you have the shielding and survivability aspect that cavalry naturally misses a bit (See full build here).

Bakshi is the pairing that I had the most fun with as they are just so nuking everything and with Bakshi you also have HP buffs to make the march more durable. In this case, however, I recommend you to run Bakshi as the primary commander (See full build here).

Theodore is obviously also a good pick as they got released along each other, both are about cavalry and have solid synergy and I believe they will make a huge impact towards the later stages of the Season (See full build here).

Emrys works and deals aton of damage with Forondil but the main issue I have is that he requires to be actively attacked to trigger the extra rage and often enough you’ll be hunting players that run away so you won’t make much use of that (See full build here).

Ffraegar might be a little odd to you in the list but she has nice buffs and is a flying hero as well so if you’re not able to use the ones above she can work okay-ish with Forondil (See full build here).

Hosk doesn’t offer too myn synergies which might sound odd as he is so versatile, but in this case it was just lackluster in my tests (See full build here).

Kregg is a flying hero but for archers and simply pairing them is only if you’re in desperate need of another flying hero for you leagion (See full build here).

Alistair only real synergy here is that they are both cavalry heroes but I didn’t had much fun with them at all (See full build here).

Oath of Stormpeak is an amazing artifact for Forondil as you have great stats, great damage and the execute effect is pretty much all you’re looking for even when the enemy is running away (and with the march speed they don’t stand a chance anyway). Kingslayer is an amazing artifact for Forondil as you have great stats, great damage and the execute effect is pretty much all you’re looking for even when the enemy is running away (and with the march speed they don’t stand a chance anyway).

Best Pet Synergies For Forondil (NEW)

With the new war pet system in Call of Dragons it’s aso important to pair Forondil with the right pet to gain more synergies. Please also check out the full tier list of all war pets in Call of Dragons here to see which ones are worth the invest in general.

Berserk Faedrake
is, when you read through the descriptions, the hero this war pet is designed for and the most obvious pairing and they belong together
Golden Roc
doesn't have passion but gaining more rage for his active skill works fine and as flying pet they go well together, too
Snowpeak Roc
can be a choice with Forondil but as he only applies the DEF Break when the target get Cowardice applied makes him a less effective choice compared to the ones above

Best Builds For Forondil

Below you will find the talent tree builds for Forondil that make sense when running as the primary commander in any legion in Call of Dragons. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

This is the obvious and, in my opinion, most useful and balanced talent build to run with Forondil where you can pick up the talents that imrpove the points you use without getting fancy. Of course you can go a little quicker here or a little more attack there but I believe that this is a thin line between theorycrafting and really using the hero and I used this talent build long enough to tell you it’s working really well.

Conclusion

I hope this guide for building Forondil helped you investing without wasting much time and resources.
