Well, then you’re in the right place, below you will find answer to each one of those questions and this will help you make your Emrys perfrom as strong as possible in all situations.

Skill Order

When you star up Emrys, you also unlock a new skill. This helps you fine-tune in what order you want to upgrade the skills of your heroes as not all skills are equally good and worth maxing or worth maxing first (in general) – this helps to invest your sculptures more reasonably to get the biggest bang for your buck.

Emry’s skills are amazing and he deals so much damage it’s incredible. When it comes to the order how you want to unlock and level up his skills, I recommend to unlock the 2nd skill as soon as possible and then you can level up his first two skills simultaniously as the extra rage from his 2nd skill scales actually a lot more than his primary skill. Only unlock his 3rd skill when you have his first two skills maxed out. It’s nice, but the first two skills are simply incredible. From here it’s open how much you prioritize cavalry in Call of Dragons and how much you invest in Emrys. For the average player I think unlocking his 3rd and 4th skill and run him at 5511 will work great and make a lot of fun – getting him to 5551 is also great. If you have a lot of fun running cavalry in Call of Dragons you might also consider maxing him out and expertising him.

Best Troop Types

Without over-complicating things, you want to run Emrys with a full Cavalry legion for the simply fact that several talent builds only affect cavalry units and his scaling 3rd skill is also only buffing cavalry units + you want to make use of the quick cavalry units in the open field when hunting down your enemies.

Best Hero Pairing for Emrys

Bakshi has amazing buffs for cavalry and you can easily run a 5111 Bakshi along Emrys for an incredible cavarly leagion. They are a basic ambush army but require some investment to be viable but youc an run around the open field and easily ambush other players’ marches with that combo. Find the talent builds for Bakshi here.
Alistair is a good pairing, deals damage himself that is alright but also has more rage accumulation in his skill kit and as soon as Emrys is expertised, Emrys will turn that rage accumulation instantly into 100 rage. They will just spam their active skills a lot and have great buffs together. Great pairing to intercept flag construction OR enemies tring to destroy one of your flags. Find the talent builds for Alistair here.
Hosk is a good pairing although the investment is quite high here – but you gain a ton of buffs, survivability, damage and also legion capacity so you can use this quick interception setup to run and tank away any forces that are incoming. Not too interesting for the average player but for spenders a valid one so I have it not listed on top although I beleive that might be strongest combo with Emrys on paper. Find the talent builds for Hosk here.
Theia along the Springwardens as your faction can do scary things as you suddenly get Theia’s 3rd skill buff and shielding along with the damage and mobility from Emrys. Not the dream team as Emrys boosts skill damage and Theia doesn’t deal any skill damage. But, again, only interesting to you if your have the Eagles of the Springwarden faction. Find the talent builds for Theia here.
Eliana is more like a budget pairing with Emrys, she adds survivability whcih can sometimes be an issue you run into with cavalry. Find the talent builds for Eliana here.

Best Artifacts

In terms of artifacts, here’s what I recommend to use as the route for Emrys:

Sorland’s Blade is my favorite artifact with Emrys as you have active damage, great attack boost plus march speed as well. It seems to be designed for exactly that case.
Storm Arrows will buff your cavalry a lot plus you can teleport anywhere, hunting down targets has never been that deadly and along the march speed you have with Emrys legion, there’s no getting away. This is THE ambush open-field artifact with Emrys.
Kingslayer also works well and gives increadible damage and attack buff, but I prefer the extra march speed from Sorland’s Blade a little more. Still an amazing artifact to use to execute all over the place.
Cloak of Stealth is the epic artifact that makes probably most fun as you still will be quite quickly with Emrys and cavalry and you can hide and ambush easily or you go in quickly and then simply disappear.
Centaur Bow is a great epic artifact I love running with Emrys for great buffs and the direct active damage is also great and adds some area damage as well.

Best Builds For Emrys

Below you will find the talent tree builds for Emrys that make sense when running Emrys as the primary hero in any legion in Call of Dragons. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

This is the overall most versatile talent build for Emrys with a lot of utility in the cavalry tree. Once you have unlocked the center node (Balanced Heart), move into the Cavalry Tree and get the additional march speed, and increase the hero skill damge and reduce thehero skill damage taken. Emrys is not neccesarily a glass cannon but you most of the time have to close the gap to ranged units so march speed and defense/more burst attack is what you’re looking for. Then pick up Perfect Ferocity for amazing increased hero skill damage after you enter battle when using your active skill the firs time.

After that, get more Marksman Unit damage dealt as this is normally the legion type you will hunt dow, Quick Escape as this will let you flee a bad situation or get faster to your next target more easily and the extra Healing from Triumphant Return as this will help you brawl around longer without having to return to your city. Last talent spot in the Cavalry Tree will be Blood Mark that will deal extra burst hero skill damage when you use your active skill.

Now you can spend the leftover points in the PvP Tree, with more attack more defense and HP which is the best stat in Call of Dragons. The reason why I don’t recommend the extra rage is that Emrys already generates a ton of rage and there’s a rage cap and all rage that is more than that will just not do anything. Finally Luck of Draw helps reducing damage further and we have the best overall talent build with Emrys ready.

This is a more damage-oriented talent build with a ton of march speed that helps you get in and out of combat. I can’t give a general recommendation but in my experience this is more the talent build that you want to use if you pair Emrys up with a deputy hero secondary that provides more sustain and survivability or this can turn into a glass cannon.

Yout start this build off with the center node and then move into the PvP tree directly, improving damage dealt, march speed and health to unlock Luck of Draw. From here pick up more march speed, more damage and the healing effect that helps you stay on the field longer and hunt down player after player. Finally get Vigor that helps with a great HP buff.

The final points should then be spend in the Cavalry Tree for more march speed, damage and damage reduction and finish with Perfect Ferocity for that nice first-skill-use burst extra.

This is the last talent build and it should only be used for ONE SINGLE USE-CASE: hunting down enemy nodes on enemy territory. This build is with a ton of amrch speed and damage to do exactly that. Get in, take down and disappear again. This build should not used for general open field brawling as you sinply don’t sustain much.

Conclusion

I hope this guide for building Emrys helped you investing without wasting much time and resources.
