Below you will find the best order to unlock and level up skills by how useful they are so you don’t have to level the skills up one by one and spend a lot of extra tokens on it. This will let you use this hero earlier and also saves you important Universal Token in the long run!
Your sweetspot of skills to make this commander useful is: 5555 and this is the recommended way to get there:

Best Troop Types

Very early you can run whatever with him and use his active skill and 2nd skill. From there on you then need to switch to run Flying Units only to make use if his 3rd skill buff.

Best Hero Pairing for Kregg

Ffraegar
Ffraegar
Theia
Theia
Kinnara
Kinnara
Nico
Nico
Syndrion
Syndrion
Atheus
Atheus
Gwanwyn
Gwanwyn

Ffraegar is the pairing with the most synergy, espcially when you run that setup with the Wilderberg fyling units as you will get the full bonus on all their talents and skills and this is a great combo pairing if you’re working on Ffraaegar right now as well (See full build here).

Theia is probaly the hero pairing that makes most sense with Kregg as both are all about flying units so they share a great synergy with each other but the big downside here is that Theia will not provide much damage boost and overall that will be a struggle if you’re looking further into where you would actually use this pairing (See full build here).

Kinnara doesn’t share particular much synergy with Kregg although there is some basic marksman synergy. I would only run this if you’re looking for something to hide your Kregg behind (See full build here).

Nico shares a lot of synery and target debuff with Kregg and also has the Engineering Tree if you need a supportive legion for building Alliance structures or you can simply run them and hide your Kregg behind a primary Nico (See full build here).

Syndrion doesn’t share a lot of synergy with Kregg away from the basic marksman synergy. I wouldn’t do it and rather use my Syndrion otherwise but they can work together (See full build here).

Atheus is also all about Flying Units if you need a budget pairing hero for Kregg that makes good use of the Flying Units synergy. Atheus deals only single target damage with his active skill, but his 2nd skill generates extra rage which is quite useful for Kregg, but with two epics you will become a target (See full build here).

Gwanwyn is also a commander that is about Marksman you can pair kregg up for in the open field but you will get problems as they aren’t really strong together and will hae a huge target on their back (See full build here).

Best Artifacts

Shadowblades buffs Marksmen attack and deals ranged damage, pretty much the epic version of the Shadowblades and probably to go-to artifact for most players running Kregg. Heartpiercer buffs Marksmen attack and deals ranged damage, pretty much the epic version of the Shadowblades and probably to go-to artifact for most players running Kregg.

Best Pet Synergies For Kregg (NEW)

With the new war pet system in Call of Dragons it’s aso important to pair Kregg with the right pet to gain more synergies. Please also check out the full tier list of all war pets in Call of Dragons here to see which ones are worth the invest in general.

Sand Lizard
is the only real choice I see here and you can use him to heal up legions around him as there is not too much synergy with the other war pets that I want to recommend here

Best Builds For Kregg

Below you will find the talent tree builds for Kregg that make sense when running as the primary commander in any legion in Call of Dragons. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

This is the talent build for Kregg that focus on open field brawling with loads of damage and rage. So, after you unlocked the center node (Balanced Heart), go into the marksman Tree and. Marksman ATK and Fully Loaded for good extra damage buffs and Initmidation before picking up Shower of Blows, which scales really well with this talent build and his skil kit, increasing damage gradually.Continue with getting marksman HP for great extra stats and Delight for more rage generation that helps you cycle through his active skill more frequently. Last Words is great for more counterattack damage and with Burst Shot at the end you gain cool extra damage to burst. Then go over to the Mobility Tree to get more march speed (Overall Speed) and attack (Overall Attack) and finish off putting your last points into last Word and Preemptive Preparations.
If you run Kregg against Behemoths, the best talent tree build for him is slightly different from the regular open field PvP tree. You will get Bullseye instead of Shower of Bows in the marksman Tree and Radical to ramp up damage even more as incomgin damage is not that much of an issue for this leagion against Behemoths. In the Mobility Tree get Adrenaline Rush instead of Last Words as you don’t do counterattack damage.
This build is for increasing kreggs Mobility. Please mind that you should follow the order of green -> yellow -> orange and then the last point is in predator with only 1 point to unlock it. This build makes him incredibly flexible and fast in the open field and you can chase down pretty much any legion and target you want.

Conclusion

I hope this guide for building Kregg helped you investing without wasting much time and resources.
