Best Troop Types
Normally you would think cavalry is cavalry but due to his DEF Break effect you can also run him along Mogro with infantry since Mogro can transfer his debuff to more targets. Other than this particular example, all about cavalry.
Best Hero Pairing for Mardok
Neya is a huge number in cavalry and works very well with him. If you have her and still have a tad trouble to fidn a good pairing or you’re about to build that, Mardok comes in perfectly fine (See full build here).
Urag another good cavalry pairing unless you pair him with Neya (See full build here).
Mogro as already mentioned above, Mogro can transfer the DEF BReak debuff. But before this escalates, at the end of the day the chance to even apply it is still only random with Mardoks active skill and overall the effect won’t make a pairing so overpowered there is no coming back. It’s nice, it works, but it is not the best pairing although some sources out there make it seem like it is (See full build here).
Mu Hsiang goes with every hero and also here no exception (See full build here).
Danfel is also a more defensive infantry option that work together with him (See full build here).
Forondil kind of works but there is also enough of their kit that isn’t so I wouldn’t really recommend it (See full build here).
Best Artifacts

We have tested many of them and some have amazing synergy and others are more in for the stats but no matter what artifacts you have possibly available, you will find the one that works best. Wolf Howl Horn is actually in terms of base scalers pretty good as well. Kingslayer is actually in terms of base scalers pretty good as well.

This is the only talent tree that really makes sense if you happen to use him as the primariy legion commander
