I know there are people out there that will call you crazy for using Tomyris as a primary commander because she doesn’t deal a ton of damage with her primary attack and – if we’re complete honest – you actually want to run her secondary with Edward
Still, you can run her primary and I have here a talent build prepared for you that I think will make her a decent primary commander. It all depends on what commanders you have, right? 😉
When you star up Tomyris, you also unlock a new skill. This helps you fine-tune in what order you want to upgrade your skills as not all skills are equally good for her. This helps to invest your sculptures more reasonably to get the biggest bang for your buck.
The thing with Tomyris is that her 4th skill will boost her overall performance so much that it’s vital.
With that in mind, you want to max out her 1st skill when she’s 1-Star and then take her all the way to 4-Star directly and hope to land as many skill points into her 4th skill from here.
The good thing with this is, also her 2nd and 3rd skill are useful, so even not landing that many into the 4th skill directly is that bad.
Tomyris is all about archers. Her 3rd skill will only apply to archers and her talent builds are also prioritizing the Archer Tree heavily.
Still, there’s no skill that require her to only run archers, so you can also use her with a march of all troop types but try to take as many archer troops with her.
Best Commander Pairing
With Tomyris you will have some interesting options if you’re using her as the primary commander. In general, you want to have commanders that don’t hit their primary skill that often or have a rage engine going on as you want her to stack her poison up as much as possible before using the active skill.
|With Edward you will get increased skill damage from Tomyris poison and debuff as well. Still, you rather want to run Edward as the primary commander.||Also here, Edward is the best choice for the same reason as I have him there for rally.|

So, let’s have a look at the talent build with some additional alternatives and also the recommended order in which you should spend your talent points on Tomyris.
This is the build:
Build with RoKTalent Builder
Please note that this is a build that you want to use in the open field rather than for rallies – but I have some annotations at the end how to modify this talent build if you want to use Tomyris as your primary commander for rallying.
First of all, go into the Attack Tree and get Burning Blood and Lord of War – both are great talents and the extra rage is helping for sure to get her primary skill cycled more frequently. From here make your way to Effortless which is, on my opinion, the strongest talent you can get in this tree. Many find in less appealing because it takes some time until it the full buff will apply, but most battles are long enough to get that buff.
Then go into the Archer Tree and get March Speed, especially in the open field you will really need this as lot. From here make your way to Venomous Sting which really walks hand in hand with her poisoning skill.
After that, get Rapid Fire and Arrows Knocked and make your way up all the way to Whistling Arrows – this talent might get squishy but when it procs you will get an awesome boost and chances are okay for the amount of buff it offers.
Razor Sharp is now also a talent that you want to get as well as Full Quiver.
With your last points you can now go into the Conquering Tree and get Buckler Shield which has an awesome damage reduction as well as Moment of Triumph that will boost your damage quite well for the beginning of a battle.
If you want to go more into rallying with Tomyris, you want to swap out Moment of Triumph in the Conquering Tree and Full Quiver in the Archer Tree and rather get Fight to the Death, it’s simply more helpful because you probably won’t last the 90% strength very long.
