Best Troops

The cool thing about Honda Tadakatsu is that he not only not cares about troops types, he actually benefits from multiple troop types with his 4th skill so you can bring mixed marches of whatever mix and have great results (except the one built I show you below that is designed to be used with one troop type).

Best Commander Pairing for Honda Tadakatsu

Tomyris
Tomyris
Harald Sigurdsson
Harald Sigurdsson

Tomyris  secondary is a great setup as the stacking poison of Tomyris will give Honda a great active skill damage increase so running with multiple marches give that a great boost. The only downside I see here is that the rage cycle is not that great (See full build here).

Harald Sigurdsson  comes in great as a secondary commander as his 4th skill is considered active so all talents generating rage will fire off and make them deal insane counterattack and area damage. No combination I’d like to deal with to be honest (See full build here).

Best Talent Tree Builds For Honda Tadakatsu

Below you will find the talent tree builds for Honda Tadakatsu that make sense when running as the primary commander in any march in Rise of Kingdoms. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

This is the built-to-run to generate rage and I have two versions here – one for running mixed troops and one for running only one troop type, whatever you will prefer in your sets of marches. For running mixed troops, what I recommend with Honda, this is going to be the talent build to use. First of all when building this (unless you have him maxed already), you want to make your way to Feral Nature as quick as possible, getting Rejuvenate first. This makes a huge difference in how much rage Honda generates ad give him a lot of versatility. From here you can make it to Strategic Prowess as it will get better impact when you can use the active skill more frequently and for that you need the extra rage generation.

If you, for whatever reason, run only one troop type in your march with Honda Tadakatsu as the primary commander, you want to shift the talents a little bit like this. You will not get Armored To The Teeth as this requires mixed troop marches and rather get the points into Latent Power that boosts the skill damage and you know that Honda will benefit from that for sure. It’s plain percentage and as a primary commander he has this high damage factor so it will pack some extra punch for sure.

This build is the one to run in Ark of Osiris where you will drop in health and this setup will do everything that you will run a powerful punch when being there that enemies won’t have much fun time dealing with Honda. Again, you want to take Rejuvenate first to get the extra health generation and from there make it to Close Formation in the Leadership Tree. This will add 12% additional attack when your army has been reduced to 50% and this contributes strongly towards Honda’s kit. Then get Clarity for the additional damage buff whenever you run a skill and then Strategic Prowess. This is a really good talent setup for Ark of Osiris and if you have Honda maxed, this also will be one nobody likes to deal with and that you also will see a lot there right now.

Best Formation + Armaments

Formation and Armaments are supposed to work perfectly with your commanders kit or you will find yourself very quickly in a disadvantage on the battlefield – and with so many variations it can be tough to stay on top. Here is what the works best in today’s meta:
