Best El Cid Builds (Talent Tree | Skill Order | Best Pairing) In Rise of Kingdoms

rise of kingdoms best el cid build

Are you looking for a solid talent tree build for El Cid?

Great, I have here some perfect tested builds that you can copy including some tips how to build them in case you haven’t maxed out El Cid, yet.

El Cid Role

Primarily, like show in the current tier list, El Cid works really well in defending objectives but can also have some nice moments in the open field or also rallying objectives as well.

Play on PC

I also want to point out that the talent build for El Cid is quite similar to the one that I have with Yi-Seong Gye with a small adaption – you want the first skill of El Cid to drop as fast as possible to disarm your opponent… so there are some minor swaps to make the rage generation as fast as possible 🙂

Also, El Cid is one of the best commanders that are available at the beginning of a kingdom, don’t forget that.

Skill Order

When you star up El Cid, you also unlock a new skill. This helps you fine-tune in what order you want to upgrade your skills as not all skills are equally good for him. This helps to invest your sculptures more reasonably to get the biggest bang for your buck.

With El Cid there’s, in my opinion, only one route to take.

You should max out his 1st skill (Famous Warrior) before you star him up. Then max out his 2nd skill (Poem of El Cid). The additional damage factor might not sound much but will contribute tremendously towards your overall damage output so should be your highest priority after maxing out his primary skill.

Now I know several people that do get him to 4 star to get his 4th skill, but I recommend you to now max out his 3rd skill first because it will give you the bonus all the time while the 4th skill bonus is only active when you fall below 50%.

So, bottom line, max out his skills in their order after each other to get the most out of it for El Cid.

Best Troops

With El Cid you’ll be brawling around the open field a lot, so you also should take as many archers with you as you can, ideally a march with only archers as the march speed bonus of his 3rd skill only applies to archers and other troops will slow you down.

Best Commander Pairing

With El Cid you will have a lot of pairing options if you’re using him as the primary commander (I did keep the barbarians and defending ones out of this list):

Open Field Rally Suns. C.
El Cid works really well with commanders that like his additional march speed, like Frederick, Caesar, or Mehmed. YSG is a phenomenal option for rallying with El Cid primary as well as Ramesses as well. With Hermann you can chain silence skills for 3 seconds.

Mind that Edward, Tomyris or Artemisia also work, but require more of a rage engine to work really well.

In general you can pair El Cid with about any other commander.

Best El Cid Builds

So, I promised you some builds and without further ado I want to show them to you.

Arch Rage Build (Open Field)

This is the best build for any open field activity you’re planning to do with a lot of range and also march speed that is really needed for that:

Build with RoKTalent Builder

Like I said, you want to get the damage but also the speed so when rebuilding this on your El Cid that is not fully maxed (what probably is the case), you want to create this build as follows:

Skill (30 Points) – you need to march speed here or you won’t catch other armies or give them the opportunity to flee from you. In open field speed is key. Working to get the 6% additional march speed is key here.

Archer (46 Points) – this is the talent tree that will add some damage that you also need, especially when using a full archer army, what you actually should with El Cide.

The key here is to get as much as possible without forgetting the extra march speed in the skill tree. Spend all the leftover points here in the Archer Tree.

Arch Damage Build

This build here is a secondary build similar to the one above but with less rage. I’d actually favor the build with the rage, simply because it will make your disarming skill drop faster and give you a greater advantage – but I know several people that swear by this build here so I also wanted to show it to you.

Especially if you run a secondary commander with El Cid that generates some nice amount of rage you can use this to get more damage.

The points are not that different here and the only difference compared to the build above is that you will go further down the skill tree before using the Archer tree, that’s it 🙂

Again, it’s an alternative build and as always it depends on your personal favors which one you will like more.

Rally Leader Build

As rallying objectives is also one of the strengths of El Cid, there’s the build to use him as the rally leader:

Build with RoKTalent Builder

Especially in KvK this build was used heavily but it still has some solid points and is up to date 🙂

Skill (44 Points) – get Rejuvenate as fast as possible to get the restored rage, really helpful in my opinion. After that Feral Nature should be your next goal in the skill tree

Archer (30 Points) – now it’s time to work on the Archer tree and the first step would be to unlock  Razor Sharp and Venomous Sting after that. If you got this you basically got it all done and the rest of your points is more like spending to spend them. I think the best option is getting Rapid Fire and Arrows Nocked  in the archer tree as well because this makes most sense for this build.
