Edward of Woodstock is similar to Yi-Seong Gye or El Cid and can pull off massive burst damage with his primary skill that is really impressive.
So, shall we have a look at the build that I recommend using with Edward? 🙂
Edward of Woodstock Role
In the open field and rallying stuff you really will appreciate a commander like Edward for sure! He’s extremely well doing there and you want to turn him into a rage engine to roll his first skill over and over again – this makes him really powerful and that’s what I wanted to do with this build here.
When you star up Edward, you also unlock a new skill. This helps you fine-tune in what order you want to upgrade your skills as not all skills are equally good for him. This helps to invest your sculptures more reasonably to get the biggest bang for your buck.
With Edward you have a difficult situation to start with. The thing is, his primary skill doesls such massive damage that you should max it out right away, but in the open field you normally have your enemies running away so it’s hard to reach that high rage requirement.
If you do open field with him, I’d rather star him up to 2-Star first and also get some extra skill points into his 2nd skill to get that extra march speed bonus. This will help a lot to fire off the primary skill more frequently.
From here you can either take him to 4-Star and max him out or also go star-by-star, the difference is not that much.
Edward is all about Archers and you see that as 3 of his 4 skills do directly affect archer units. Also, talent builds with him only make sense when spending a nice bunch of talent points into the Archer Tree. With Edward just take full archer marches, everything else is not worth it and you do even neglect the 3rd skill if you don’t.
Best Commander Pairing
With Edward you will have multiple interesting options if you’re using him as the primary commander:
Tomyris is a great choice as she will synergize really well with Edward. This also counts for Yi-Seong Gye who will also boost the skill damage that Edward will deal, all this will be an insane amount.
If you want to go a little more on survivability, Rameses or El Cid will provide you with healing factor or resistance that will also suit Edward really well.

Edward of Woodstock Build
So, with that 1,350 rage requirement, you really want to make sure to pop that skill as fast and often as possible – it will deal rampage damage that is insane and Edwards biggest strengths – and for that reason, this talent build is all about generating or restoring rage for him.
Done with RoKTalents Builder
The talent build itself is the same you would see on commanders like Yi-Seong Gye or El Cid as they share the same talent trees.
So let’s have a look at the best order to make this build happen (you probably don’t have Edward of Woodstock maxed out, I guess):
First of all make your way in the Skill Tree towards Rejuvenate. This will restore 60 rage once you used a skill and contributes heavily towards getting Edwards first skill rolling over and over again.
Then you want to unlock Feral Nature at any costs as fast as possible without wasting any talent points left or right that are not required to unlock Feral Nature. I know it looks like chances are quite low but in the long run, you will get 10 additional rage for every attack (statistically) and that’s a lot!
Clarity itself isn’t that exciting but if you can keep Edwards skill rolling it contributes and you need it to get Feral Nature so no second-guessing required.
In the Archery Tree you want to make your way over to Razor Sharp which grants you also some additional rage and then make your way up to Venomous Sting.
