Best Troops

Gilgamesh is about archers. Some commanders have a certain unit type favored but the skill tree plus most skills of Gilgamesh favor archer units so you should run as many of them as possible.

Best Commander Pairing for Gilgamesh

Nebuchadnezzar
Nebuchadnezzar
Ramesses
Ramesses
Cyrus the Great
Cyrus the Great
Yi-Seong Gye (YSG)
Yi-Seong Gye (YSG)

Nebuchadnezzar is the perfect rally pairing to be honest. Their synergy is simply amazing, their synergy is just on point. Also viable to run them along each other in the open field. Ramesses as well but I see some counter-synergies here that won’t make it as perfect. Cyrus the Great will gain a crazy rage engine and instant procc damage and AoE damage that works really well with Gilgamesh, also with the extra march speed. Yi-Seong Gye (YSG) is just a great legendary commander and as their both Archery commanders there’s no reason to not pair them together. -.

Best Equipment Forge Order

In terms of equipment, here’s what I recommend to use as the route for Gilgamesh. I have tailored this priority order that you can follow step-by-step to prevent forging and running equipment that is not useful or only provides a very small improvement. Follow the equipment path step-by-step and you will have the best and most economical gear:

Chain Mail
Chain Mail is super cheap to craft and gives some attack so it's the best first gear item to craft and equip
Sturdy Boots
Sturdy Boots will give some defense and gathering speed which is not too exciting but they are also cheap to craft and give at least a few stats and should be your second gear item to equip
Helm of the Phoenix
Helm of the Phoenix is the first green item to craft and equip and although the stats overall are not too impressive, at this early stage they still help and are a solid progress
Leather Gloves
Leather Gloves gives some health which is always good (and I mentioned numerous times that health is the strongest stat in the game) so you can't go wrong now with this as your next gear item, espcially considering the low crafting costs
Ranger Trousers
Ranger Trousers is also not too exciting but the only green piece that gives any stats to archers so take it
Blessed Blade
Blessed Blade is the last open gear slot to equip and the reason why I recommend this last is that archers normally don't have a huge problem with attack and this item provides attack), they normally struglge more with durability in combats so this will make you deal more damage which is fine but doesn't help with any defensive stats at all - for that reason I recommend this gear item last here
Commanders Heavy Armor
Commanders Heavy Armor is the next gear piece and you should skip the green one here for sure as it is even worst for archer stats than the white gear piece you're having, so get the blue directly and save yourself some crafting resources and the health increase you get here is quite massive
Staff of the Lost
Staff of the Lost should be the next gear to replace the green one, for the simple reason that you can now get defense instead of attack which makes your march a lot more durable and reliable
Greaves of the Exile
Greaves of the Exile is like the weapon the next logical step as it is now available and you should have the resources to craft it
Flame Treads
Flame Treads now finally replace the white boots. There was simply nothing good available so far that made sense so you have rather saved resources by jumping from white to epic directly and with massive 5.5% health it's a great gear item that set you up well here

How to unlock

And for the artifacts I have tested the different ones here so you can see which ones perform the best (of course I only tested/list the ones that make sense):

Pendant of Eternal Night

Ring of Doom simply increases her damage by a percentage and is one of the legendary accessories that make a lot of sense with Gilgamesh.Horn of Fury provides extra rage and helps Gilgamesh cycle through his active skill faster and faster, which also works well with the builds I have below.

Best Builds For Gilgamesh

Below you will find the talent tree builds for Gilgamesh that make sense when running as the primary commander in any march in Rise of Kingdoms. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

For using Gilgamesh in the open field I recommend you to run this talent build here. Here’s the best order how to build this setup:Skill Tree is obviously the first step when creating this build and Rejuvenate is your first goal here because it will give such a nice extra rage that Gilgamesh can use so much. I think that’s the biggest bang for your buck early.Archery Tree will now be your next step and there you should go after Venomous Sting as you will pick up several useful boosts for your army, but the primary thing here is to pick up the 18% extra march speed that will be really useful for open field. From here go to Whistling Arrows in the Archery Tree at the minimal invest. Conquering Tree will be your last points with going after Buckler Shield to decrease the counterattack damage before spending the last points into Heraldic Shield and Tactical Mastery in the Skill Tree and Full Quiver in the Archery Tree.
This setup will apply the maximum extra rage to keep your primary skill rolling all the time and keep the health debuff active on the enemy. Here’s the best order how to build this setup:Skill Tree is obviously the first step when creating this build and Rejuvenate is your first goal here because it will give Gilgamesh a rage engine. You’ll get extra rage when any skill is used, makes skills roll faster and give more of that extra rage faster.Archery Tree is the next step with Venomous Sting. It just gives many general benefits that you shouldn’t neglect for the extra rage now as the skill tree is all about skill damage (what Gilgamesh doesn’t have that much) and extra rage.Back to the Skill Tree you can now go for Feral Nature and the rage engine is ON, you will roll your primary skill so much that there’s no way the enemy will be one second without that debuff anymore (basically 30% of his power is gone).Last picks are then Razor Sharp and Full Quiver for some extra stats and you’re done with this build. Really fun, but I still think the above one is better for open field with the tankiness of the Conquering Tree.

Conclusion

I hope this guide for building Gilgamesh helped you investing without wasting much time and resources. If you liked it or you further questions (or maybe also annnotations that you believe should be added here in this guide), please don’t hesitate to post them below in the commen section. Thanks for reading and have a great day and see you out in the kingdoms.
