Best Troops

Cyrus is about archers. His 2nd skill favors archers in term of march speed and attack and his 3rd skill that is really important for his overall performance requires only archers. To finish this route, most of his talent builds rely heavily on the Archery Tree so make sure to run only archer units with him.

Best Commander Pairing for Cyrus the Great

Ramesses
Ramesses
Nebuchadnezzar
Nebuchadnezzar
Yi-Seong Gye (YSG)
Yi-Seong Gye (YSG)
El Cid
El Cid

Ramesses has a good synergy with Cyrus as they will boost their active skills vice versa so you will deal a ton of damage. The only downside here is that this pairing will favor only single-target damage so bigger brawls in the open field will not work that well with this setup. Nebuchadnezzar will turn this pairing into a great setup that deals area damage as well as adding a good amount of march speed so you will have a great setup in the open field. Yi-Seong Gye (YSG) is also in interesting pair that will deal insane amounts of damage but turn out to be kind of a glass cannon as they lack survivability. The extra rage of YSG will, however, contribute really well to the mechanics of Cyrus. Still, I’d only recommend this for Ark of Osiris where you don’t have to pay the repair bill – in KvK this can turn out really expensive. El Cid is a pairing that works with the disarming skill of Cid but away from the tankiness and the possibility to get out of tricky situations will, this won’t give as much synergy as the other pairings I have above. -.

Best Equipment Forge Order

In terms of equipment, here’s what I recommend to use as the route for Cyrus the Great. I have tailored this priority order that you can follow step-by-step to prevent forging and running equipment that is not useful or only provides a very small improvement. Follow the equipment path step-by-step and you will have the best and most economical gear:

Chain Mail
Chain Mail is super cheap to craft and gives some attack so it's the best first gear item to craft and equip
Sturdy Boots
Sturdy Boots will give some defense and gathering speed which is not too exciting but they are also cheap to craft and give at least a few stats and should be your second gear item to equip
Helm of the Phoenix
Helm of the Phoenix is the first green item to craft and equip and although the stats overall are not too impressive, at this early stage they still help and are a solid progress
Leather Gloves
Leather Gloves gives some health which is always good (and I mentioned numerous times that health is the strongest stat in the game) so you can't go wrong now with this as your next gear item, espcially considering the low crafting costs
Ranger Trousers
Ranger Trousers is also not too exciting but the only green piece that gives any stats to archers so take it
Blessed Blade
Blessed Blade is the last open gear slot to equip and the reason why I recommend this last is that archers normally don't have a huge problem with attack and this item provides attack), they normally struglge more with durability in combats so this will make you deal more damage which is fine but doesn't help with any defensive stats at all - for that reason I recommend this gear item last here
Commanders Heavy Armor
Commanders Heavy Armor is the next gear piece and you should skip the green one here for sure as it is even worst for archer stats than the white gear piece you're having, so get the blue directly and save yourself some crafting resources and the health increase you get here is quite massive
Staff of the Lost
Staff of the Lost should be the next gear to replace the green one, for the simple reason that you can now get defense instead of attack which makes your march a lot more durable and reliable
Greaves of the Exile
Greaves of the Exile is like the weapon the next logical step as it is now available and you should have the resources to craft it
Flame Treads
Flame Treads now finally replace the white boots. There was simply nothing good available so far that made sense so you have rather saved resources by jumping from white to epic directly and with massive 5.5% health it's a great gear item that set you up well here

Best Builds For Cyrus the Great

Below you will find the talent tree builds for Cyrus the Great that make sense when running as the primary commander in any march in Rise of Kingdoms. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

The Versatility Tree is a talent tree you will not use with Cyrus, so you can decide whether to go through the Skill Tree or the Archery Tree. The main difference is that the Skill Build will give you a ton of rage or the Archery Build for a little more survivability.I personally would recommend the Skill Build over the Archery Build as it will boost Cyrus’ damage so much that it’s absolutely worth it. Here’s the build and the best order how to build this setup:The Skill Tree is obviously the first step when creating this build and Rejuvenate should be the first talent you’re aiming for. Then I’d get Latent Power as this will give more extra skill damage that favors Cyrus mechanics really well. From here, closest route towards Feral Nature, this will give Cyrus 150 extra rage each time he uses his skill and makes his rage generation roll faster and faster, apply damage over time more and more and snowball into insane damage output. The Archery Tree is the place where to spend the next points, with Venomous Sting and the 8% extra skill damage of him and his secondary commander the most valuable one to get next. Last points then spent as shown above and you have a crazy damage output talent build for Cyrus.
Here’s the alternative setup that will give him less energy and let him roll his skills less, but will help adding survivability with more march speed and buffing march stats. Here’s the best order how to build this setup:Skill Tree is, as with the build above, the first step to get. You want the extra rage as it will help Cyrus so much. Also Latent Power is a must-get then, it’s simply too good and the 3 talent points are really well-invested.Archery Tree from here with Venomous Sting first and then the fastest route to Whistling Arrows. You will get a good bunch of nice stat boosts doing that.Full Quiver and Razor Sharp then in the Archery Tree before you will spend your last points on Herladic Shield and Tactical Mastery in the Skill Tree.

Conclusion

I hope this guide for building Cyrus the Great helped you investing without wasting much time and resources. If you liked it or you further questions (or maybe also annnotations that you believe should be added here in this guide), please don’t hesitate to post them below in the commen section. Thanks for reading and have a great day and see you out in the kingdoms.
