Best Troops

Mulan is a great support commander and she has no restrictions at all and you can add her to any troop type march.

Best Commander Pairing for Mulan

William I
William I
Aethelflaed
Aethelflaed
Saladin
Saladin
Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great
Joan of Arc
Joan of Arc

William I along with a full cavalry march and Mulan as secondary commander is an amazing pairing as their buffs can stack and you will have a very versatile march overall. Aethelflaed as the primary commander works well in buffing/debuffing mechanics and with the support tree of Aethelflaed as the primary commander raises the survivability of this march a lot + Hasty Departure helps a lot with staying flexible on the battlefield. Saladin also works well as the primary commander with Mulan as the secondary commander as he also has the support treee that helps mUlan spam her active skill as much as possible to have that massive buff going on. Alexander the Great with the shielding and the march speed as primary commander also works but you won’t have that much rage going on, but Alexander scares off enemies from targeting your march down quickly. Joan of Arc is a great pairing and although Mulan is often referred to as legendary version of Joan of Arc, they don’t share exactly the same buffs so their buffs don’t override each other and you can have all buffs active – this is the go-to supportive march you want to have along in big brawls. But be very careful as this is a march that has a huge target on the back to get focused down.

Best Equipment Forge Order

In terms of equipment, here’s what I recommend to use as the route for Mulan. I have tailored this priority order that you can follow step-by-step to prevent forging and running equipment that is not useful or only provides a very small improvement. Follow the equipment path step-by-step and you will have the best and most economical gear:

Sharp Longsword
Sharp Longsword is a great and super easy to get piece of equipment and the +5% defense for cavalry optimal
Coarse Breeches
Coarse Breeches also a super low-hanging fruit here with extra attack for cavalry units
Milanese Plate
Milanese Plate is the very first chest piece as there is nothing prior that makes sense equipping for cavalry
Bronze Bracers
Bronze Bracers are not the greatest equip gear overall but they give some cavalry defense and are the first viable option for this slot
Helm of Fear
Helm of Fear is the first helm piece to craft now. It has attack, which is not the best to have that early and you rather want defense but you can at least get some attack bonus from it
Edged Boots
Edged Boots are the last open equipment slot and should be the last equipment piece to equip since the small attack bonus is the least benefit here, but it gives a litte extra attack on cavalry so it's worth it
Vanguard Halberd
Vanguard Halberd should now replace your white weapon and it is incredible good for a green equipment offering a good defense boost that you really need at this point
Vanguard Greaves
Vanguard Greaves are your choice here and with the Vanguard Helbred in place you will also get the additional set bonus so you have all green equipment now with a nice bonus and good amount of total stats
Windswept Boots
Windswept Boots are the first blue gear you should equip after you have all equipment above equipped and it's an incredible gear piece where every stat is on point
Windswept Bracers
Windswept Bracers is the next equipment to replace the Bronze Bracers and it will give you great stats with health and march speed that is quite perfect + you will get the small attack buff as you now have two Windswept gear pieces active

Best Builds For Mulan

Below you will find the talent tree builds for Mulan that make sense when running as the primary commander in any march in Rise of Kingdoms. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

One word of caution before we get to the talent tree build – as you might have seen in the equipment section above, Mulan is despite one very early game setup with Joan of Arc not the commander you will use as primary commander , so this is a very theoretical build (bot in the way it works, more in the way you will not use her as the primary commander). The goal with this build is to make your way to Rejuvenate as quickly as possible as you want to generate as much rage as you can to apply her active skill as much as possible. The rest of the points would be well-spent in the Peavekeeping Tree for the simple reason that you will hun barbarians by the time you haven#t maxed her out and then use her as secondary commander (or gain EXP for other commanders).

Conclusion

I hope this guide for building Mulan helped you investing without wasting much time and resources. If you liked it or you further questions (or maybe also annnotations that you believe should be added here in this guide), please don’t hesitate to post them below in the commen section. Thanks for reading and have a great day and see you out in the kingdoms.
