Below you will find the best order to unlock and level up skills by how useful they are so you don’t have to level the skills up one by one and spend a lot of extra sculptures on it. This will let you use this commander earlier and also saves you important Universal Sculptures in the long run!
Actually only his active skill is worth investing and maxing at all and his role is more supporting role in huge rally setups. The other buffs are okay-ish (2nd skill), limited on Diachan (3rd skill) or simply bad and not worth it (4th skill). Don't plan to expertise him at all, there's literally almost all other commanders in Rise of Kingdoms being worth doing that more.
Your sweetspot of skills to make this commander useful is: 5110 and this is the recommended way to get there:

Best Troops

Lu Bu doesn’t care about troops type at all so you can throw him into every march setup you want (if you want).

Best Commander Pairing for Lu Bu

Mehmed II

Attila
Attila
Chandragupta
Chandragupta
Diaochan
Diaochan

Mehmed II is a viable pair as both of them have a similar kit and go well with each other. I’d actually use Mehmet as the primary commander in that pairing. Attila is also a commander that has a ton of debuffs so you can form a good rally supporting march with them. Again, this is not about making a huge impact on their own, it’s just for support. Chandragupta is similar to Attila a legendary commander to pair up with Lu Bu for supporting the rally with their debuffs on the target. Diaochan is a pairing but primarily because of his 3rd skill that gives extra bonus when she is paired with him. Still, in reality that is still not a good march and pairing a weak legendary commander (Lu Bu) with an epic commander to get some bonus stats on a bad skill you should not invest in anyways doesn’t cut it for me as viable so this is here more in terms of nameing it because I have to. -.

Best Equipment Forge Order

You will not run him as primary commander at all so don’t put anything on him.

Best Builds For Lu Bu

Below you will find the talent tree builds for Lu Bu that make sense when running as the primary commander in any march in Rise of Kingdoms. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

If you want to run Lu Bu as the primary commander (and I can only say there’s very limited occasions where this makes sense), this is the build you want to use to make the most out of him. It’s not a viable or great buildbut that’s based on the fact that Lu Bu just isn’t a strong or viable commander and his role is primarily being a secondary commander in a supportive rally march.

Conclusion

I hope this guide for building Lu Bu helped you investing without wasting much time and resources. If you liked it or you further questions (or maybe also annnotations that you believe should be added here in this guide), please don’t hesitate to post them below in the commen section. Thanks for reading and have a great day and see you out in the kingdoms.
