Are you planning to or already running Charlemagne in Rise of Kingdoms in one of your marches and want to see how you should invest the talent points, what equipment works best and what other commanders you should pair with? Well, then you’re in the right place, below you will find answer to each one of those questions and this will help you make your Charlemagne perfrom as strong as possible in all situations.

Skill Order
When you star up Charlemagne, you also unlock a new skill. This helps you fine-tune in what order you want to upgrade the skills of your commander as not all skills are equally good and worth maxing or worth maxing first (in general) – this helps to invest your sculptures more reasonably to get the biggest bang for your buck.
I’d not build Charlemagne to be that rally leader as it’s an investment that becomes useless shortly after and is only viable in very new kingdoms. In a perfect world, I’d max out his first skill (as you would with every legendary commander and the skill damage is quite nice and get buffed up even further through other skills). Then I’d make him 2-Star and max out the 2nd skill and then make him 4-Star and try to land as many points in the 4th skill without minding Expertise or the 3rd skill at all.
Best Troops
Charlemage as Leadership commander doesn’t care too much about troop types and you don’t need to mind them at all when selecting the troops for your Charlemagne march.

Best Equipment
In terms of equipment, hereโs what I recommend to use as the route for Charlemagne:
The situation with Charlemagne is that you will not have great equipment available when he’s a viable commander in early kingdoms to rally and then he’s absolutely not useful anymore when you have access to the good equipment
Best Builds For Charlemagne
Below you will find the talent tree builds for Charlemagne that make sense when running as the primary commander in any march in Rise of Kingdoms. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.
So, we already said that Charlemagne is great for rallying cities and that’s what we will focus when spending the talent points in this build.
You’ll start with putting your talent points into the Conquering Tree and you want to go for Tear of Blessing first. Normally this isn’t like the best talent to get as it plain reduced the amount of troops that die and normally you want something that accomplishes that by reducing damage taken or dealing more damage or anything like that.
Anyway, with his skill to reduce the amount of troops that die, Teat of Blessing walks hand in hand and will get quite useful when you have up to 20% less troops die, which is quite an impressive amount!
Next work your way towards unlocking Meteor Shower by only spending the talent points needed to unlock it – this will again give a nice buff when you rally a city.
In the Skill Tree you really want to make your way over to Rejuvenate next. This is very useful to get the rage going and make sure that you can roll through the skill, although it doesn#t deal massive damage it’s still useful to get it popping as often as possible.
If you have maxed Charlemagne high enough to now have some points left, you should then go to the Leadership Tree and get Hidden Wrath, which makes most sense at this point with the additional rage you can get.
Also taking Tactical Mastery (extra skill damage) and Heraldic Shield (reduces skill damage taken) in the Skill Tree are viable options after that. You’re doing rallies and chances that your rally gets swarmed are very high so this will help you significantly in that case.
Do not take Naked Rage, it will increase your skill damage (which is not the highest after all) at the cost of getting more skill damage – if you get swarmed this will stack exponentially and might give you a pretty early end!
Conclusion
I hope this guide for building Charlemagne helped you investing without wasting much time and resources. If you liked it or you further questions (or maybe also annnotations that you believe should be added here in this guide), please don’t hesitate to post them below in the commen section. Thanks for reading and have a great day and see you out in the kingdoms.
