Best Hydra Teams in Hero Wars 2024

Attacking the different Hydra heads in Hero Wars requires different teams and interestingly enough, some heroes that you don’t find performing too well in other modes excel in Hyra teams. Below you will find a selection of Hero Wars teams that have proven to work really well and I tried to provide teams for every player, not just those few of you that have all heroes built.

Important! This guide here shows teams only for hyra attacks, if you want to find out more about general best teams to use, (e.g. Arena or against certain setups), please make sure to go to my best hero wars teams guide here.

The Best Teams For Every Hydra Head in Hero Wars

So, the Hydra has six heads and each head reselmbles a different type of element. This means you also need very different teams for each head so this is why the team recommendations below for Hydra is separated into six section, one for each head.

Earth Head Hydra Teams

Here are the best teams in order of the potential damage they can deal against the earth head of the Hydra in Hero Wars:

Inarguably the strongest team against the earth head of the hydra with, by far, the higehst damage potential if you have built the heroes well enough.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >110M

Possible Adjustments:

  • none, this synergy only works with the heroes there are and switching anybody out will completely destroy the success of the team!

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

The runner-up team here and potentially the team that will overtake in the future but right now the second best to use against the earth head of the hydra.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >90M

Possible Adjustments:

  • you can swap out Galahad for Julius which also works fine if you have built him but the overall damage will be slightly lower
  • you can swap out Galahad for Corvus and this works also well but the overall damage is significantly lower
  • you can switch out Fafnir for Dorian if you’re lacking a well-built Fafnir. In terms of damage it will be less so I only recommend doing that if you really can’t use Fafnir

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

This newer team is coming stronger and stronger but you have to have the invest. Again, I ranked for current damage potential but I believe a team like this with more skins released in the future will take over the top against the earth head.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >70M

Possible Adjustments:

  • This team needs to be used as it is, there is no swaps that make it useful with the ways those heroes work together

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

The og-team that was performing so well but not that much anymore as the newer heroes have been taken over. Still a good team and probably a team more players can use with reasonable overall damage but not kicking that much anymore.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >40M

Possible Adjustments:

  • This team needs to be used as it is, there is no swaps that make it useful with the ways those heroes work together

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

Fire Head Hydra Teams

Here are the best teams ordered by total possible damage for the fire head of the hydra:

This is the current meta team against the fire head of the hydra, dealing the most damage but also requires some heavy investment in all the heroes and is probably only your pick if you’re really an end-game player in Hero Wars.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >220M

Possible Adjustments:

  • You can switch out Mushy & Shroom and replace with Faceless. This will add more RNG and quite some lower overall damage but is a good way if you haven’t built Mushy & Shroom
  • You can switch out Dorian and replace with Thea. This will, however, make a significant change in damage output and I found it overall results in only half the damage
  • You can switch out Dorian and use Alvanor instead. This also works but the overall damage will be a lot less

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

The alternative team and however you put RNG it is able to pretty much deal the same amount of insane damage against the fire head of the Hydra and probably your best choice if you don’t have Xe’Sha built that well.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >220M

Possible Adjustments:

  • You can switch out Jhu and Maya and switch in Xe’Sha and Lilith, but if that’s an option you can easier use the team above and the overall damage is significantly lower when breaking this heroes synergy here

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

This is the only team here without Martha, Xe’Sha and Mushy & Shroom and has some great damage potential.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >120M

Possible Adjustments:

  • none, this synergy only works with the heroes there are and switching anybody out will completely destroy the success of the team!

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

This is the last top team here with great damage potential but I think for most players if you can’t build one of the above ones, this one will make you suffer even more since there are so many heroes here that not many players mutually have built so far.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >110M

Possible Adjustments:

  • none, this synergy only works with the heroes there are and switching anybody out will completely destroy the success of the team!

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

Wind Head Hydra Teams

Here are the best teams for the wind head of the hydra, ordered by their potential damage:

This is, by far, the best team against the wind head

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >110M

Possible Adjustments:

  • you can replace Maya and Markus with Xe’Sha and Andvari. This will lower the damage but still work well.

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

This is the runner-up team, although dealing significantly less damage and looking at the new heroes you have to have invested in makes me wonder if that team is potentially overtaking once we see more skins available for those heroes.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >60M

Possible Adjustments:

  • you can replace Aidan AND Faceless with Lilith and Dorian. This will decrease the overall damage but still work. But you have to replace both of them!

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

This is the most player-friendly wind head hydra team in Hero Wars right now with heroes that are in most players roaster and they can do decent damage as well.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >40M

Possible Adjustments:

  • there are no real replacements in this team that make sense

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

Water Head Hydra Teams

Now let’s take a look at the best teams against the water head of the Hydra in Hero Wars:

This is easily the best team to use against the water head of the hydra, by such a far lead and it’s fairly accessible so taking it will give ou a dramatic damage boost overall.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >100M

Possible Adjustments:

  • you can deal pretty much the same damage if you switch out Celeste and use Yasmine instead. This is for the case you have incested a lot more into your Yasmine than your Celeste

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

This is the runner-up team and belive it or not it only deals like a quarter of the total damage even when having all heroes maxed out.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >30M

Possible Adjustments:

  • no real replacements here, you have to use the team as it is

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

Also a team that works but looking at the top team above against the water head not one I would consider unless you can’t build the teams above.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >20M

Possible Adjustments:

  • you can replace Elmir AND Ishmael with Fox and Astaroth. Will deal about the same damage but if your hero roaster have them better built they are a possible replacement. But you have to replace both of them to keep synergy working!!!

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

Also a team that works similarly well but with different heroes that could help you more

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >20M

Possible Adjustments:

  • you can replace Celeste and Astaroth with Satori and Aurora. Will deal about the same damage but if your hero roaster have them better built they are a possible replacement. But you have to replace both of them to keep synergy working!!!

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

Darkness Head Hydra Teams

Here are now the best teams against the darkness head of the hydra:

By far the best team and by far I mean it deals 8 times more total damage potentially than the 2nd ranked team!

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >200M

Possible Adjustments:

  • you can replace Orian with Maya which will mean more healing but also cut back the damage. This will still deal a lot more damage than any other team.

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

The 2nd best team against the darkness hydra head and it deals a lot less damage but there is nothing in between and at least it’s a accessible team.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >30M

Possible Adjustments:

  • you can replace Galahad with Astaroth if you have built him higher. Won’t make much of a difference in the overall performance of the team

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

The last team here that I can recommend although the damage is compared to the other teams a lot lower is the twins team.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >10M

Possible Adjustments:

  • no real replacements, you have to use the team exactly like shown

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

Light Head Hydra Teams

Here are the best teams against the light head of the Hydra in Hero Wars:

If you want to do real damage, this is the base team that performs best right now

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >230M

Possible Adjustments:

  • replace Lilith AND Dorian with Aidan AND Faceless is another alternatice that deals pretty much the same damage if you have built them up better
  • you can replace Dorian with Thea for more stability if you haven’t built all the heroes up well but it will result in significantly less damage but still doing good
  • you can replace Mushy & Shroom with Mojo which also works fine but deals a lot less damage overall
  • you can replace Mushy & Shroom with Faceless which will resilt in less damage but also this might work better if your Mushy & Shroom is not well-built

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

This is also a very good team setup that can deal significant damage against the light head of the hydra.

Possible Damage (when all heroes are maxed): >150M

Possible Adjustments:

  • replace Orion with Maya for more healing if you haven’t built up all heroes and the damage will be less but not that crazy much to not think about that replacement
  • you can also replace Markus with Celeste which also works in this setup well enough

Here are the builds I recommend for the heroes:

Conclusion
