The new realm in Voyage of Wonders is coming and it’s called Hopeless Isle and it’s dedicated to the arrival of the new and first Graveborn Awakened hero – Awakened Baden. This one has a special boss with tiered rewards and is really interesting, but one step at a time; you will find everything you need to know about Hopeless Isle here in my guide, including a step-by-step walkthrough.
Hopeless Isle General & Rewards
As always, I won’t spoil anything about the storyline of Hopeless Isle here in my guide so you can read through everything, including the walkthrough, without giving away the chance to experience the full realm and the storyline yourself.
After you made your way through the storyline of Hopeless Isle, you need to beat the special boss of the realm and, as all Voyage of Wonders dedicated to a new Awakened Hero in AFK Arena are somewhat special, at the end you will get a special boss fight against the Swarm Corruptor with abilities instead of countering a certain team:
He has three special abilities and I don’t want to anticipate to the teams here (you will find them at the end of the walkthrough), but I have listed the special abilities of the Swarm Corruptor here:

This all contributes to a ‘Personal Quest’ progress and you will get a Reward Chest at the end as well (haven’t had that in a long time in Voyage of Wonders, right?):
So, very interesting, right? But let’s also talk about rewards of Hopeless Isle in general:
As you can see (and also as expected), the main reward of Hopeless Isle is 10x Time Emblems along with emblems, coins and boosters as we see it in the other Voyage of Wonders.

Hopeless Isle Walkthrough
As always, you will find a full walkthrough for the realm here. With that being said, let’s not waste any more time and jump right into the walkthrough for Hopeless Isle. By the way, if you have problems please also check out my frequently updated tier list of heroes (with Signature Item, Artifact, Furniture and Engraving recommendation) here that could give you some hints what heroes are good or maybe also my guide on the best teams in AFK Arena here.
Please mind: I don’t mention to collect every Golden Chest individually, so if you can reach one -> collect it
Step 1 – right at the start and the opening conversation of Hopeless Isle, walk down and light up the Soulcatcher Array there (1) before you can continue and challenge your first fight (2):
Then a lot of other camps will show up (3) and let you know that you should be heading back to your boat (4):
Step 2 – sail through the path and follow it and collect the 3x Golden Chests on the ocean and the 1x Golden Chest on land:
Now you can land behind the camps that you have backed off from in the previous step (3) and follow the path to the left until you see the storyline of Hopeless Isle continue with Nevanthi. Then you will see the next Soulcatcher Array (4) that you have to light up:
Step 3 – as you see parts of the bridge towards Nevanthi appearing, continue on the path and light up the next Soulcatcher Array (1) and the one after (2):
The last one you need is a little hidden inside the city walls and you don’t have to fight here, you have to only walk through the open spot (3) to light it up and the bridge is complete now. Cross the bridge and awaken Nevanthi now (4):
Step 4 – the storyline of Hopeless Isle now proceeds and as your path back over the bridge is blocked, you need to continue to the left until you find the next Soulcatcher Array (1) to light up. Don’t forget to collect the Golden Chests along the way and light up the next Array (2), too:
When you cross that bridge, you will see the Swamp Corruptor but there’s more to do before you will battle him. Now you need to overtake him and take the path below him (3) and at the end where you see two camp (4), battle the upper one and collect the Golden Chest and DO NOT battle both camps! The Swamp Corruptor will move further with each camp you fight:
Step 5 – collect the Golden Chest above and proceed on the path, that Array from the previous step will stay untouched for now (Update: this might have been a little wonky on the test server and now be fixed, but you need to ignore it and then do it later, sorry for the confusion!). Nevanthis will show up and tell you about a ‘secret path’.
Once you fight the camp (1), the Swamp Corruptor will destroy the Array, that’s absolutely ‘fine’ in the way how you progress here in Hopeless Isle, no worries. Just proceed on the path to the right and don’t forget to collect each Golden Chest or it might get destroyed by the Swamp Corruptor and you need to restart to get it! At the end you will see the Crystal Chest (2):
At this point you should have collected all the Golden Chests as well as the Crystal Chests and the fun with the Swamp Corruptor can start. Click on the tile (3) and the Swamp Corruptor will walk in, take down Baden and you will see Awakened Baden appear (4):
This is where you unlocked the Boss Challenge that I talked about in the beginning so here’s the best teams and ways to unlock all the rewards. Your goal is it to get as much damage done there with your attacks.
Best Team for Swamp Corruptor
Right now, this is the team that the top attackers run and that will get you the best output:
You can also play around ad swap in Hodgkin or Scarlet or Haelus here, but as far as I tested it you absolutely need to run the Awakened Baden and Nevanthi or your team will go down really quick,
