Reverse: 1999 is a stunning game with a load of beautifully designed characters – but beyond their great design there is the important question which ones are good or not – and this is the guide you will need where I tell you which ones are strong and which ones are not.
Update! This tier list is for the launch and doesn’t include characters that are available on the Chinese Servers but not in Global. I kept it plain and simple and evaluate only the tier for early and late game so you see what characters are good also in the beginning, which ones get stronger/weaker and which ones to hold on to. This is for the launch in October and will become more detailed in the coming weeks.
The Best Characters in Reverse: 1999
Without wasting too much time, let’s jump right into the list now.
Tier S+Incredible versatile against single targets or also dealing with waves very well.
Tier S+One of the most incredible buffers in Reverse 1999 and although her Break Time and Exorcism Time can read a little confusing but is working really well with pretty much all setups.
Tier SAvailable in the beginner banner and is really tough to take out, doesn't require much investment which deals damage and self-heals.
Tier SAlthough support can deal solid damage and debuff enemies well.
Tier SAny team that uses crits can rely on her which scales so many possible team setups.
Tier SGreat healer that works in many situations and also debuffs damage taken and can keep your team alive easily.

Tier SNot too hard to build and doesn't rely on crit like many others and has quite a stable and reliable damage output through that without hunting a crit setup.
Tier SProvides mass healing and counter and has some alright damage as well, so what else can you ask for?.

Tier AYou get her for free and build her from progressing the game and she is surprisngly strong throughout the game with universal buffs that make her a great plug-and-play hero in many teams and she has also decent damage output.
Tier AIs unlocked on the 8th day of logging in for free and can work as healer and also DPS to a certain extinct. If you save up the healing skills and let them merge automatically you can get a lot done with this character.
Tier ASuper universal damage dealer that fits in almost all teams super well and can cycle well through the ultimate skill.
Tier AControls with Petrify and has consistent mass damage output and I like the balance between survivability and damage output as some damage dealers are just glass cannons. There are characters that deal more damage but I still like her a lot.
Tier AOutstanding support for Mental Damage teams by weakening the enemies but also quite relying on enemies having debuffs so her kit works well.

Tier BCan be really squishy and although you get her for free at the end of Chapter 1 and she has high damage potential, but at one point you will face reality with her so she is more an early-game carry in Reverse 1999.
Tier BAlthough easy to build and raise, her buffs are only single-target so she is not a great team buffer and more with a strong carry character and also her low base stats will become a problem the further you progress in the game.
Tier BCheap to build and in early game a good crit support character for crit teams but completely single-target andnot much more in the kit.
