Is Spin & Win Rigged?!

Spin & Win is a mini game inside 8 Ball Pool that you can play once every day for free and pay money for more spins (but with an improved drop chance).

If you played Spin & Win a few times you might have noticed that you probably rather got the smaller prizes instead of the big ones, right?

Well, there’s quite a lot of discussion in the community that Spin & Win is rigged in 8 Ball Pool so I thought I wanted to write a few things about it to clear some things up.

Rigged?!

First of all, let’s talk about the expression “rigged”, this means something is set up to trick other people – imagine some backyard dive games that do scam tourists. That’s a perfect example for a rigged game.

Rigged games make the player believe that they have clear winning chanced but in the background there’s no way they can even win because the counterpart simply cheats so the player can’t win in the long run.

When looking at this term and then at Spin & Win, where are we?

Well, Spin & Win is a big wheel of fortune that makes you believe that you have the same chances for every single prize, right?

Clearly, the chances are not equal for all prizes.

You will end up getting the 50, 100, 150, 250, 500 Coins a lot more often than the other ones.

But is that really rigged when the spins are free?

We can say that it would be a lot better if Miniclip would state the actual chances to get each prize so people won’t dump any money in it because they believe the next spin will give the big prize – but in my opinion this is not rigged because you can do it for free.

You will win anything for spending nothing in any way and this is not really a rigged thing but more a thing that many developers of mobile games use.

You just should be aware that your chances aren’t good and that’s ok.

If you spend money on a Golden Spin, however, the drop chances of the good prizes will be 10x as high so this is quite fair in my opinion.

Still, I wouldn’t pay money here to win something rather than spending it on anything else, but sometimes in the riddles it is required to do a Golden Spin and that’s okay to me.
