Best Teams for Twisted Realm & Cursed Realm + Boss Calendar

Twisted Realm and Cursed Realm are great game modes to get additional rewards, if you use the right teams. The better your teams perform against the bosses, the more rewards you get and this adds up long-term for better progress, especially mid-to-late-game in AFK Arena.

In this guide, I have the best teams for every player (yes, not only for end-game players) that will help you get more out Twisted Realm and Cursed Realm.

Before we start, please also mind that I have a general guide on the best teams in AFK Arena here (covering campaign, PvP, Faction Tower and more). If you’re looking for the best teams for Guild Hunting (Wrizz and Soren), you will find them here. In general also check out my guide for the best heroes (tier list) here to also see what builds are recommended for all heroes and, last but not least, my list of active gift codes here is always worth checking out to not miss out on any rewards.

Alright, let’s jump into Twisted and Cursed Realm now…

Twisted Realm

Twisted realm follows a fixed schedule, so you will see the bosses rotating in the same order.

Best Kane Teams

Kane will kill one enemy after 15 seconds, 40 seconds and 65 seconds. With Talene (or Awakened Talene) in your team you should turn auto off and slam her ability to get her killed first. After that, you can turn auto battle back on for the whole team and see decent damage overall. With your Talene upgraded well enough, you can even get her killed every single time and keep your whole team.

Frontline

Backline

As I said, you can switch Awakened Talene for Talene if you haven’t invested in her (I think for most players this applies). You can also replace Silas with Daimon or Mortas, Twins can be switched for Rowan and if you don’t have Talene at all (not even one copy), you can go with Wu Kong as Kane then will only take down one copy of him after he ults.

A budget team here for new players would be:

Frontline

Backline

Best Demonic Enity Teams

Your main deal here is that you need to deal constant area damage to deal with her spawns – and the best team here requires some investment.

Frontline

Backline

Basically, Morael will set up her cosmic field that will kill the spawning enemies in the very second they will spawn while the other heroes buff her up to deal more damage and make her ultimate stay active all the way through. Heavy investment, yes, but by far the most effective setup!

Alternatively, especially if you’re not that far in the game you want to run this team setup:

Frontline

Backline

Shemira is vital here and with Rosalina following her the mandatory setup. Rowan will heal some and buff and the twins also do their job. Estrilda as tank is also working well here because she also deals some nice damage and makes the faction buff complete.

Best Unhinged Teams

Unhinged

The main strategy against this boss is simply pushing through the shield with high damage and with spawners you will limit the chance that the lightnigns strike your heroes – right now, the best team to run is this:

Frontline

Backline

Grazhul will also deal nice damage with his skeletons and they will, once enough of them spawned, protect your team and take most of the random lightning damage. The other heroes basically buff them up so they deal more damage.

A cheaper version of this team will run Saurus instead of Scarlet to deal the main damage and Rowan/Rosa will buff :

Frontline

Backline

Rosaline will follow Saurus in this setup and Rowan can also heal if needed and a lightning will strike one of your heroes.

Best Ice Shemira Teams

Ice Shemira

Her strong area of effect damage is really tough and Ezizh as the main key here to deny her ability.

Frontline

Backline

Ezizh will suppress Ice Shemiras ability while the Twins can dispel her debuff. Saurus and Grezhul will deal massive damage along with the interruption of Warek you have a great setup to get a nice score against her. Put Ezizh in the backline to avoid him catching her Ice Beam.

A more budget setup without Scarlet, Warek and Grezhul would look like this:

Frontline

Backline

It deals less damage but the core mechanics still work fine.

Best Gretesque Mage Teams

Gro. Mage

You can only use your ultimate skill 5 times, so turn auto-ult off! You want to use your ultimate like this:

  • Twins at 00:59 left
  • Then at 0:29 left use ultimate in this order: Grezhul -> Twins -> Cecilia -> Warek
  • then you can turn auto back on

Frontline

Backline

Grezhul will be tank and damage dealer as well.

If you don’t have Warek and Cecilia well-upgraded and invested, use this team instead:

Frontline

Backline

For this team you will also turn off auto ult and use them manually like this:

  • only manually use Saurus ultimate as soon as possible 5 times

Best Burning Brute Teams

Bur. Brute

The Burning Brute was one of the squishiest bosses so far and it took the developers quite some time to really fix the mechanics but now the meta has settled and this is the best team to run:

Frontline

Backline

Possible changes you can make without having Antandra well-invested… replace her with Izold who can become the main damage dealer against Burning Brute or Talene that dives under the dome and also heals allies that catch fire. Mortas can be replaced by Daimon who has no issues staying alive, but this gives that team more rng.

A cheaper team for newer players will be this:

Frontline

Backline

Cursed Realm

Cursed realm is the evolution of Twisted Realm for advanced players that has the same bosses but requires you to run multiple teams. No worries, you can still get a lot out of it without having a huge hero roaster or invest a ton into many heroes here. Here are the best team setups…

Best Kane Teams

Kane

The allied hero that deals the most damage in the fors 10 seconds will get a crucial nerf to his attack so teams need to be tailored that the main carry of a team will not get the nerf. The best strategy here is to use two carry heroes instead of gambling around with rng. These are the best team setups to use for the different stages (without duplicate heroes):

Battle 1 Teams

Frontline

Backline

Or alternatively, you can use this team:

Battle 2 Teams

Alternatively, this is also a viable setup:

Best Demonic Enity Teams

Dem. Enity

All normal damage (except ultimate skill damage) is nerfed extremely so heroes with strong damage-dealing ultimate are the key to success here. The 1st battle and the boss battle have quite stable damage but the other ones have quite some rng so don’t get confused if you see mixed results here and there…

Battle 1 Teams

You can either go with this setup here (using Anasta or Mishka in the front row):

Frontline

or go with this setup here:

Battle 2 Teams

The frontline should always be Grezhul and Scarlet here but you can play around with the back row a little bit:

Battle 4 Teams

Either you can run this team with Awakened Brutus in the front row:

or you can switch him with Lucretia but then have some alternate backline:

Frontline

Battle 5 Teams

Here it will be best to use a Ainz comp with Haelus and you can switch around in the backline a little bit between Joan, Leonardo or Silas:

Frontline

Backline

Rosaline should always be set to follow Ainz.

Boss Teams

And, finally, for the boss fight I recommend this team, with either Awakened Talene or Awakened Solise in the front row:

Alternatively, if you can’t run one of the you can use this team here:
