Skill Order

When you star up Henry, you also unlock a new skill. This helps you fine-tune in what order you want to upgrade the skills of your commander as not all skills are equally good and worth maxing or worth maxing first (in general) – this helps to invest your sculptures more reasonably to get the biggest bang for your buck.

All of Henry’s skills are powerful and point directly towards his role in the game – breaking the meta setups defending and be the rally captain. For that reason there’s also no need to discuss how to star him up or use him wihtout Expertise, as the only reason to build him is to use him as the rally captain and you need to Expertise and max him to do that.

Best Troops

In order to get not only his skill benefits but also much of the talent build, you really need to run Henry with a full Archers march.

Best Commander Pairing for Henry

Gilgamesh along Henry is a natural pairing as their mechanics are very similar but really sticks out is that both reduce normal attack damage taken and you can reduce that by so much that they will become so incredibly sustain. Find the talent builds for Gilgamesh here.
Nebuchadnezzar pairs really well with Henry as primary commander as they have similar mechanics that make them impossible to be swarmed. Henry can deal direct damage when attacked and Nebu adds a ton of anti-swarm technology as well and deals counterattack damage and revenge skill damage. With that pairing nobody out there will dare to swarm you. Find the talent builds for Nebuchadnezzar here.

Best Equipment

In terms of equipment, here’s what I recommend to use as the route for Henry:
As an Archery commander you should start equipping her with equipment like Revival set items, Golden Age and Flame Threads as basic setup before starting to equip stronger legendary equipment on him, but as his regular role is rally captain, you need to pick the strongest infantry-guided gear available for him

Ring of Doom works perfect with all abilities and what’s also important is it will scale up well with the anti-swarm skill that deals direct damage when attacked.
Horn of Fury or Vengeance are the other good choices. Horn lets you cycle through the skill faster, what I really like as you get the skill damage taken by your troops for 5 seconds. The quicker you keep that rolling the moreuptime this protection has. Vengeance helps to punish getting swarmed, but I feel that henry paired with the right secondary commander can deal with that already quite well.

Best Builds For Henry

Below you will find the talent tree builds for Henry that make sense when running as the primary commander in any march in Rise of Kingdoms. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

This is the rally build that you should use with Henry. Rejuvenate and Loose Formation for more rage and reduced skill damage taken and then fill up the Archer Tree for some insane buffs on your archers. Mind again, use only full archer marches with Henry to get the full bonus applied.

Conclusion

I hope this guide for building Henry helped you investing without wasting much time and resources.
