Best Troop Types
He can work with all flying units so that is great but in reality flying marksman are barely used and with his kit he work sbest with celestials just because how he can boost their damage scaler but the main message here for you is that you don’t have to mind troop types because of him but because of who to pair with
Best Hero Pairing for Elio
Seluna is the best pairing as they hae the most universal and flexible troop types as well and just overall work best together (See full build here).
Urag for a hybrid setup wotks as well with a lot of damage and HP bypass for open field (See full build here).

Best Builds For Elio
Below you will find the talent tree builds for Elio that make sense when running as the primary commander in any legion in Call of Dragons. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.
If we do ignore the theorycrafting mobility tree that I don#t see much use-case for and the weird cavalry tree with him, I honestly thing the most reasonable talnt tree is this, balanced and universal as he is that works with everything well
