In case you do not have a plan for the weekend, why don’t you consider pushing yourself to the Crystal, Master, or even Champions League? If you are not Town Hall 8 or above you can also do this – I’m not crazy and I can prove it! Here is a screenshot showing you that someone pushed to Champion League as a Town Hall 3*:
*This Base is visited in spectator mode, don’t get confused by the resource count. It’s the resources of the person visiting the base, NOT the view of the owner 😉
I admit this is a little bit crazy, and to do so you really need a lot of time and focus. He just did this to prove to everyone that it is possible. In regular circumstances I would say reaching Crystal League is possible for everyone without an astronomic amount of time invested and Town Hall 7 or 8 can also realistically reach the Master League, but why should you do this? Well, besides showing off with it, you can also earn solid gems because there are some achievements for that.

- Reaching 1,250 trophies: 450 gems
- Reaching Crystal League (2,000 trophies): 250 gems
- Reaching Master League (2600 trophies): 1,000 gems
- Reaching Champion League (3200 trophies): 2,000 gems
This sounds very good, but you have to prepare yourself of investing relatively a lot of time and it could also get boring along the way – also you’ll have to invest a good amount of gold because you will have to “next” often. But who said you can win a marathon without putting bandaids on your nipples?
The Concept of getting to Champions League
Are you still reading? This means you are still interested, so here’s the 3 steps you’re going to accomplish:
- The easy grind (Gold 2 League and lower)
- The regular attacking (Gold 2 League to Master 3 League)
- The hard last steps (Master League)
Some of you might start in step 2 or maybe even step 3
Depending from that it will take a different amount of time to accomplish your goal. I assume you do like 5-6 daily attacks:
- Step 1: 1 week
- Step 2: 2-3 weeks
- Step 3: 2-3 weeks
Altogether (if you start in step 1) that’s about 5-7 weeks for a regular player. If you do more than the 5-6 daily attacks, you will be faster, of course 🙂
The Road through the Leagues until your reach Champions League
Gold 2 League and Below
This region is easily to beat. Simply focus on rushed bases or the ones having a lot of outside buildings. Don’t get greedy if you come along a base with a lot of loot!
The thing is you can get a lot of loot, but you’ll probably not get a victory and lose a lot of trophies. You’ll need three 1-Star attacks to make up for it and you’ll get enough loot without taking down the bases with the high loot.
Fill your Barracks equally with Barbarians and Archers (if you have 3 Barracks fill one of them with Barbarians and two of them with Archers) and always keep them queued up. Should you also have Dark Barracks you can fill them with Minions. Now get yourself in an area with something nice to drink, stable internet connection, and a comfortable place to sit – I also recommend turning on the television or music to have some entertainment while grinding.
Don’t do any heroic attacks to try to get more stars if you are not 110% sure you can get them because you don’t want to waste your troops.
Now simply go after outside buildings until you have reached 50% and got 1 Star. That’s it
Gold 2 to Master League
That’s the point when you have to attack harder to open the pot. Primarily you will need to use an army based of:
- 12-14 Giants
- 10 Hog Riders (plus Hog Riders in your Clan Castle)
- 30-34 Archers
- 8 Wizards
- 1 Healer
- 3 Healing Spells
The attack always works the same way:
- Lure out the Clan Castle Troops with a Hog Rider & Kill them/it (most of the time it’s a Dragon)
- Send in your Giants with the Healer to tank
- Deploy your Hog Riders to support them taking out the defenses & Heal them up with your Healing Spells
Master League to Champions League
Congratulations, but now it gets tough.
You will need to do frequent attacks. Everytime your shield runs out you will get 3 Star attacked, this means you will need to do at least 2-3 attacks in between to have a small progress.
Don’t rush now! Making 20 trophies a day is a good progress – losing an attack will just make the effort of 2-3 prior attacks useless and throw you back on your daily step!
Patience is now key, only attack when you’re 100% sure!
Here’s your army setup to do it:
- 2 Golem
- 2 PEKKA
- 12+ Wizards
- 6 Wall Breaker
- 4 Earthquake Spells
- 1 Rage & 1 Heal Spell
You will send in 1 Golem and 1 PEKKA together on each corner of the base and then all your Wizards right after them in a line.
After that you will let your Wall Breaker crack open the outside and drop the 4 Earthquake Spells on the inside compartment.
Your troops will enter the base along with your Barbarian King and drop your Rage and healing Spell – most of the times you should get 2 Stars.
At a certain point you will be somewhere you should not be and your base simply won’t be able to stand up, so you can expect that you will get attacked and 3-starred right away when you log out. This will happen, but you will also get a nice shield with up to 16 hours. I recommend to plan your breaks and to put your Town Hall outside (especially when you are in Gold 1 and above) to maybe get lucky and have someone only snipe your Town Hall – in this case you will only lose 1/3 of the trophies.
Some Additional Tips
First of all, you always have to be patient – the next great base can wait for you behind the upcoming “next” button. You will only destroy your own hard work if you make a nonsense attack out of frustration.
Take your breaks when you get very bored / un-concentrated / frustrated – losing some trophies is not great, but will not break your neck. Better take one large break than 5 smaller breaks.
