Lohar has a bad standing as he is really bad in everything, well, except fighting Barbarians and Forts – that’s something he can do really well actually and only Boudica or Belisarius are similarly well in doing that next to Lohar among the epic commanders.
So, Lohar is good in one thing and for that reason, I decided to give you one build that makes him actually best in dealing with barbarians and forts because of his skills you can create a build that allows Lohar to just stay out there and hunt barbarians after barbarians after barbarians without coming back to your city soon.
Sounds interesting? Of course, it does. Because it is 🙂
Current Ranking – is Lohar S-Tier, A-Tier, or D-Tier?!

Lohar is a super interesting commander to have and use earlier in Rise of Kingdoms, but also has his worth later when you want to take on barbarians or level up other commanders.
With each star added you will unlock a skill that you can level up, and this helps you fine-tune his skills. Let’s say you put all skill point into him when he is 1-Star, of course all of them will go to the 1st skill. If you wait spending skill points until he’s 3-Star, the skill points can go into one of the first three skill. This is how you can “skip” skills that are not that useful.
Here’s my recommendation:
Before you sill star Lohar up at all, make sure to have his 1st skill at Skill Level 5. It deals direct damage and also heals troops, making it a lot easier to farm barbarians back to back.
Then make Lohar 2-Star and also max out his second skill. This will increase the damage dealt to neutral units, including barbarians, significantly.
Then you have two option – you can either max out his 3rd skill at 3-Star or go to 4-Star directly and hope to land more points into his 4th skill that will heal troops when leaving the battle.
If you’re really early in Rise of Kingdoms, use the first option and max out his 3rd skill first for that nice EXP bonus, it will help leveling commanders a lot as this also applies to his secondary commander.
Lohar doesn’t care about troops at all so bring whatever you want (and have).
Best Commander Pairing
You normally use Lohar for two things in Rise of Kingdoms – leveling other commander or attacking barbarians/forts for farming.
In the first case, pair Lohar with the commander you want to level up and make sure that Lohar is the primary commander so his traits will also apply to the secondary commander.
If you want to attack forts or higher level barbarians that are challenging, combine Lohar with commanders like Boudica, Keira or Hermann

So, let’s have a look at a really great build for Lohar here.
Barbarian Hunting Build (Non-Stop)
So, this is the talent tree build that I recommend using with Lohar:
Build with RoKTalent Builder
Let’s talk a little bit about the order of how you want to spend your talent points if you haven’t maxed Lohar out so far and also some background why I’ve chosen those talents and how they work together and in addition to Lohar’s skills.
Your first step would be into the Peacekeeping Tree to get Insight. Insight is the highest priority now as you’re farming barbarians and you want to reduce the amount of action points long-term to do that more. The no-brainer pick to start off with.
Then I’d actually go over to the Support Tree and get Rejuvenate. Rejuvenate is really great because it will give you 150 rage when you use Lohar’s primary skill but also when your secondary commander uses his/her skill, that’s 300 rage which are basically 30% of the rage required to get it the next time, you will use your primary skill a lot more and as you’re not only dealing direct damage with it but also heal a solid amount you will become more sustainable when you’re out there hunting barbarians.
Now I’d go back to the Peacekeeping Tree and make my way over to Thoroughbreds to get the extra march speed. Especially when you’re out there going from barbarians to barbarians, you want to keep the travel times short as you’re normally online during that time.
Now Trophy Hunter is a must-have as it will give you an additional resource pack with every defeated barbarian, this will add up over time and it’s free resources for doing the same.
Then you should do the other side of the Peacekeeping Tree to get Domination and Killer Instinct as you need them and they give you a nice buff as well.
From here make your way straight to Curing Chant.
Curing Chant is a blessing here as it will heal your slightly wounded troops each time after you’ve dealt with barbarians and along with the 4th passive skill that also will heal troops this will become your healing engine that will keep Lohar’s army alive and you can go to the next barbarians instead of getting back home to heal your troops.
To complete this build head now over to the Support Tree again and get Elixir, which will give you 9% more healing effect. You now have plenty of healing in this build so you should be able to stay out there non-stop.
To finish this build get Loose Formation to reduce the skill damage you’re getting and also Counterattack.
