Since the ground combat skills use the same Training Manuals that space combat uses, you simply can’t affort upgrading all of them, actually not even one more hero’s ground combat skill than needed. Doug Rockwell is absolutely ahero you want on your beam ship in any formation with the strong support he provides so your DPS heroes, like Evan, can do their thing without getting melted away too quickly (See full build here).
Aliya is a great commander here with him, even buffing up his ability damage (See full build here).
Klara is basically the epic version of Aliyaj so if you don’t have Aliyah in the process she is a good substitute alongside Evan (See full build here).
Lucius Pullo is like the weaker epic version and not really a champion you would pair up with him honestly (See full build here).
