Building your ships can be super overwhelming when starting out playing Foundation Galactic Frontier and not gets more complex later on so we wanted to make a guide that players can rely on without messing up their progress long-term on how to build their teams and ships in the game.
Flagship Meta & Ship Type
There are two very important basics that I want to tackle before we jump into the flagships that are misunderstood a lot and lead to follow-up mistakes frequently for newer Foundation players:
Ship Types Are Not Fixed!
First let’s start that the game gives your flagships one of the damage types there are (Beam, Ionic & Kinetic) – many players thing that is that but you can change any ship type by changing the core component so the ship types are more about synergizing with skills and the heroes:
No Team Mixing
Heroes itself but also overall bonuses give on the ship and from heroes are all about using the same type of heroes together to get those extra buffs – so right now there are not really any mixed teams.
Also, there are not too many heroes available to make multiple ships with the same type of (like 2 ships with beam heroes) but this can change in the future – the current meta is more about beam being the strongest since Evan Rogers who slowly rolls out on new servers, is just incredibly strong and Gram is amazing as main ship for the damage mitigation and regeneration so they naturally make the best fit right now. But that can change. Please mind also that Demerol is only upgradable with paid packs and the amount of money you need to spend to really make it work as primary ship is about 4-digit. Yes, that is 4-digit. So with kinetic being the weakest type what we learned from the open beta, that is paired best with the Demerol, not because they share crazy synergy but more because both are not really going too much forward right now (look at it like a parking space for now).
Beam Hero & Flaghip Build
Right now beam takes the crown in terms of overall performance but that heavily depends on the heroes and with Evan Rogers there is a big champion in that corner
