Best Troops

He is purely about infantry so don’t do any crazy experiments here and use him with infantry only, in the open field.

Best Commander Pairing for Ragnar (Prime)

Scipio Africanus (Prime)
Scipio Africanus (Prime)
Philip II
Philip II
Guan Yu
Guan Yu

Scipio Africanus (Prime) is probably the best pairing here and both of them buff each other so incredibly up that the only reason to not pair them is that you don’t have them. The times of Scipio Prime and Guan Yu are over with Ragnar Prime, they belong together for a secondary infantry march and they will spread havoc (See full build here).

Philip II is a really strong pairing that activates Ragnars kit on a new level (See full build here).

Guan Yu this is a pairing you can make if you do NOT have built William Wallca so you can put Scipio Prime with Liu Che and then put Guan Yu with Ragnar Prime. Makes sense, is strong. But only if you don’t have William Wallance. if you do, use him along Liu Che and pair Scipio Prime with Ragnar Prime (See full build here).

Best Equipment Forge Order

In terms of equipment, here’s what I recommend to use as the route for Ragnar (Prime). There are different builds for wherever you are right now, from beginner to veteran:

Best Talent Tree Builds For Ragnar (Prime)

Below you will find the talent tree builds for Ragnar (Prime) that make sense when running as the primary commander in any march in Rise of Kingdoms. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

This is the talent tree that actually make most sense with Ragnar Prime so don’t make crazy stuff here, the Versatility Tree was never good and he can make great use of the Skill and Infantry Tree so take our recommended route.

Best Formation + Armaments

Formation and Armaments are supposed to work perfectly with your commanders kit or you will find yourself very quickly in a disadvantage on the battlefield – and with so many variations it can be tough to stay on top. Here is what the works best in today’s meta:
