Best Troops
He loves all troops and actually benefits from using different troop types but also works with one. Incredible universal when it comes to that.
Best Commander Pairing for Philip II
Ragnar (Prime) is with his incredible strong skill and the way their kits work together, without doubt, the strongest pairing right now (See full build here).
Ashurbanipal if you have him expertised and you get the extra triggering of the buff with each active skill, you have a pairing that is buffed up under the teeth. Well, with the small asterix that you have to have both expertised, of course… but still an incredibly strong combination you can run (See full build here).
Hermann (Prime) for the sake of it, they work together well with the way their skills interact although they are not really designed to work together specifically. But, the way Hermann Prime dominates right now makes it still a dangerous and viable pairing (See full build here).
Scipio Africanus (Prime) as secondary commander with Philip as the primary commander is a pairing that works really well together but I wouldn’t build Scipio Prime for the sake of it (See full build here).

Best Talent Tree Builds For Philip II
Below you will find the talent tree builds for Philip II that make sense when running as the primary commander in any march in Rise of Kingdoms. Please also refer to the description below each talent tree as I explain a general route on how you should spend your talents there + some additional background for each talent build that I very likely will appreciate.

This is the talent tree that makes, in my opinion, the most sense. Please mind that you want the Rejuvenate extra rage but not too much as this build normally already gets you towards the rage cap so more points there would be wasted.
Best Formation + Armaments
Formation and Armaments are supposed to work perfectly with your commanders kit or you will find yourself very quickly in a disadvantage on the battlefield – and with so many variations it can be tough to stay on top. Here is what the works best in today’s meta:

Conclusion
I hope this guide for building Philip II helped you investing without wasting much time and resources. If you liked it or you further questions (or maybe also annnotations that you believe should be added here in this guide), please don’t hesitate to post them below in the commen section. Thanks for reading and have a great day and see you out in the kingdoms.
