When talking about gear in Archero 2, there are a couple things that the game makes different to the first Archero game that I want to give you here since gear is more about sets now. But one step after another, we have here all you need about gear that will help you to not merge gear that you shouldn’t merge into each other and also understand what gear items and sets should be high on your priority list.

Gear & Gear Sets in Archero 2
Unlike gear in the original Archero game, in Archero 2 things are more about build and archetypes (right now we have combo, blast and close but there are more coming soon. If you want more insights to that, please check out our build overview for Archero 2 here where you find more details about each of them and recommended builds for each of them.
So, sets in Archero 2 are not like in other games about set bonus, sets are simply gear that has the same name but also contributes towards the same damage archetype (combo, close, blast) so you can mix different sets but they should all buff your build archetype (again, please check the guide linked above).
Preview
There are leaks out there showcasing a new set and weapon, the Scythe of Death and the corresponding Crisis Set. Since all archetypes are set so far I assume this will be a new damage archetype set so if you loved the Scythe in the original Archero game and are not 100% convicend of any of the builds we have now save up your keys for these bad boys:

Combo Build
Best Gear Set Pieces for a Combo Build that increase the combo count and/or provide buffs for a high combo count
Tier Absolutely the strongest combo build set in Archero 2 but since it was released after other S-Rank sets it has a delayed start. Can be well mixed with yellow rarity Echo Set gear.
Tier Needs to be ellow rarity to have the combo traits.
Blast Build
Best Gear Set Pieces for a Blast Build that wither trigger more explosions or enhance Blast damage
Tier Strongest gear pieces for any blast build, can be easily mixed with yellow rarity Destruction Set gear pieces.
Tier Needs yellow rarity for blast benefits to become active.
Close Range Build
Best Gear Set Pieces for a Close-Range Build that increase the damage dealt for enemies that are close to you
Tier Best gear set items for a close range build with ton of crit and extra damage.
Tier Needs yellow rarity to have actual benefits for close range builds.
