ATTENTION! The tutorial/guides in the game are alright but not perfect. They are quite generated and only show you what works ‘by design’ in the developers eyes and don’t give you alternatives or sweetspot recommendations. That’s why we give you all test results for all gear, legacy and force so you can apply that to your heroes no matter if you just pulled them with 0-Star or you have them fully maxed and unlocked.
Tier D+Here is a quick overview of the rankings of Shield Squad. Please refer to the full tier list linked below to see the ranking of all heroes in DC Dark Legion and full evaluation and priority.
If you’re looking for working team setups to use in DC Dark Legion, you can find here some teams to use.
Best Gear For Shield Squad
With gear sets in DC Dark Legion you can either use all gear from the same set to get the 5-item bonus, which is a bigger one, or you use two of the same set to get the 2-item bonus. Here’s how well the relevant set bonus synergize with Shield Squad:
Best Stat Prio
The gear sets are only one part of the fun here, the main part comes when using the ones that actually have stats that you need. Imagine you have a damage dealer, pull the best set and then have only defensive stats on it. It makes the item useless. And since upgrading gear costs quite a tad of resources, especially later on, you should only upgrade gear with these stats here:
Unlock with PRO Hide plans
Best Legacy For Shield Squad
Legacy are pretty much the artifacts in DC Dark Legion that enhance a hero kit and since the recommendation in the game are, frankly, lackluster since they only give you the strongest recommendation that 95% of the players either can’t use or haven’t unlocked their character enough to make it the best one. Here is our full test result so you can see what alterntive legacy is working, too:
Best Force Setup For Shield Squad
Force is basically a talent tree where you enhance skills and stats of your heroes and the part where you should be the most careful when building as this takes a long time, mistakes will be expensive and set you back a lot more and resets are not that easy:

Please mind that legacy is something that changes too much so although we have setups right now we have serious concerns that they will not make it like that from the beta to the final game so we don’t want to give you wrong recommendations. This here will get updated on official release.
Conclusion
WE hope this guide helps you optimizing your hero builds in DC Dark Legion and progress faster. I know that with all the different gear, stats, legacy and force setup choices, one can feel a little lost sometimes, so please if you have any questions just post a comment below and I will be happy to help.
