If you want to build your Harley Quinn in in DC Dark Legion you have to mind a couple things to get the full performance. And mistakes can cost a lot of valuable resources in this game. We have here all important info that you need to get the best out of your heroes in DC Dark Legion.
ATTENTION! The tutorial/guides in the game are alright but not perfect and often promote legacy gear that you simply don’t have and in case of the higher-rarity heroes maybe never will. We tested all possible setups to give you build options that you can actually use.
If you’re looking for working team setups to use in DC Dark Legion, you can find here some teams to use.
Best Gear For Harley Quinn
Up until you get your Armory to Level 28 and you get Mythic+ Gear, you simply use the auto-equip function since there are no gear sets or flexible stats (this changed heavily from the open beta). With gear of Mythic+ your will get the option to Transmute the gear which let you pull random extra stats:

There is only a few rules for transmutation you need to follow for now, we expect this feature to be changed in the future as it is not viable the way it is right now):
- Only Transmute Gear that has the currect Tags! since your transmutation level is PER GEAR ITEM, not globally! You need to transmute every piece for a lot of times to even be able to get the red stats!
- Keep What You Got! honestly just keep whatever stats you get now. Transmutation will get changed and even the whales don’t even exessively use it at this point so why would you? You got some HP and RES that looks nice? Keep it. Every percentage helps. Do not invest money into the Mirror Cells right now, this is a bottomless pit.
Best Legacy For Harley Quinn
Legacy are pretty much the artifacts in DC Dark Legion that enhance a hero kit and since the recommendation in the game are, frankly, lackluster since they only give you the strongest recommendation that 95% of the players either can’t use or haven’t unlocked their character enough to make it the best one. Here is our full test result so you can see what alterntive legacy is working, too:
Best Force For Harley Quinn
Here is the real fun and the real trap – building the Force Tree. Not only will this enhance (core) skills and stats, it will also be a very long-term invest since the costs of each node will get higher and higher.

Level 4 nodes already scale to 120 AC/DC Shards PER node so in total we are talking a couple THOUSAND AC/DC Shards to max out ONE SINGLE Force TREE of ONE hero! On top of that, there is NO way to return AC/DC Shards that you invested into Force Nodes. Even resetting your character will not reset the Universal Force Tree! Once spent they are spent! Make sure to be sure if you want to spend them or not, espcially on Level 2+ nodes!
We have below the ideal path of investment with the ideal levels. Of yourse every hero would be best when fully maxed here, but each nodes past Level 2/5 has two important things to consider:
- Diminshing Returns: this is basically when a node costs more and more but gives the same boost. For example a node gives +2%HP and you pay 4 shards or 8 shards for it for the first two levels, there it has great value as you get 4% HP for 12 AC/DC Shards in total. Now Level 3 costs you 20 shards and only gives another 2% HP, is that still good value? Remember, you can’t get already spent AC/DC Shards back, even if you reset your hero so this is important!
- How important are the nodes: The skill nodes sometimes only give raw stat boosts like 2% more ATK but they cost like 120 AC/DC Shards for a Level 4 upgrade. So not all skill nodes are no-brainer. It all comes down what stats really scale your hero kit and some skills and stats are not really needed. This makes in the long run the difference to have built 3 heroes in a way where you used your AC/DC Shards well versus one that you pumped everything into but that hero might not perform that much stronger to make it worth it.
For that reason we have here full Force Tree setups that show you what nodes are a priority and what level you should upgrade them for a minimum, optimum (best value when it comes to boost versus cost) and maximum (beyond that level is just sinking shards) to help you build more core heroes simultaniously and prevent you to make expensive mistakes you can’t roll back!

- Here are the base explanations to read the guide:
- COLORS: The colors indicate the priority of each node. Orange is the first priority, Green the second priority and Red should be only used on heroes that are your daily drivers.
- NUMBERS: show you what level you should do. The first number is the minimum invest to use a hero, the middle number the sweetspot when it comes to cost versus return value and the thrid one the maximum level before it becomes a shard grave. So for example 2/3/4 below a node means you should get Level 2 if you want to use the hero as it will boost the hero dramatically, Level 3 is the ideal investment for most players to use the hero well but not spend too many shards invested and Level 4 is the maximum you should spend in that node. For most players not even that unless you use that hero in your core team for literally everything.
Conclusion
We hope this guide helps you optimizing your hero builds in DC Dark Legion and progress faster. I know that with all the different gear, stats, legacy and force setup choices, one can feel a little lost sometimes, so please if you have any questions just post a comment below and I will be happy to help.
