Clash of Clans 2025 Best Epic Equipment per Hero

We write for players, not search engines — add us as a preferred source to support what we're doing.

Mobile strategy game Clash of Clans features five heroes for players to choose from when attacking another base. Each unit possesses unique abilities and stats, with each providing huge advantages when invading another territory. Not only that, but gamers also have epic equipment available to them that they can attach to their heroes to further boost their power. Using the best items ensures that each team will clear an enemy base without a hitch.

All Clash of Clans Hero Units

There are five hero units for all Clash of Clans accounts. However, those aren’t all readily available right off the bat. Players will need to recruit them by upgrading their Hero Hall to level 7, which is only doable at Town Hall 13. Here are all the hero units in Clash of Clans:

  • Barbarian King (unlocked when Hero Hall is built at Town Hall 7)
  • Archer Queen (unlocked at Hero Hall Level 2 at Town Hall 8)
  • Minion Prince (unlocked at Hero Hall Level 3 at Town Hall 9)
  • Grand Warden (unlocked at Hero Hall Level 5 at Town Hall 11)
  • Royal Champion (unlocked at Hero Hall Level 7 at Town Hall 13)

Each Hero is based on one of the existing base units in the game. However, what sets them apart from their regular counterparts are their special abilities.

Clash of Clans Hero Equipment

The game allows each Hero to use two pieces of equipment simultaneously, and they can be of any rarity. The Epic items are the most powerful, but some Rare tiers can work well if fully upgraded. These items offer various bonuses to units, which can range from the following:

  • Offensive Bonuses: Increase damage and Cooldown Reductions (best for players that often raid others)
  • Defensive Bonuses: Higher HP and Durability (great for players that are constantly being attacked)

It should also be noted that any Hero can use Rare items, but Epic ones are exclusive to one unit. Players can upgrade equipment using resources—or speed up the process using Gems for instant upgrades or material purchases.

Best Epic Equipment per Hero

Barbarian King

  • Spiky Ball: Allows the Barbarian King to launch a range attack that can bounce multiple targets, maximizing his impact in a raid.
  • Giant Gauntlet: Provides offensive and defensive bonuses to the BK by giving him enormous splash damage and increased durability at specific periods. It also provides self-healing, keeping him on the field longer.

Archer Queen

  • Magic Mirror: Mainly a defensive Epic Equipment because it conjures multiple clones of the Archer Queen while making her invisible. However, those who upgrade this item can increase the clones’ damage output, making them excellent sources of DPS.
  • Action Figure: A tremendous defensive equipment for the Archer Queen because it spawns a Giant while turning her invisible. This period lets the Giant take all the aggro while the Hero can freely destroy more buildings.

Minion Prince

  • There’s no good Epic Equipment for the Minion Prince.

Grand Warden

  • The Grand Warden only has the Lavaloon Puppet as an epic item, considered one of the worst ones in the game.

Royal Champion

  • Electro Boots: Continuously sends out shockwave pulses that damage surrounding buildings and units. This attack continues until the Royal Champion is knocked out or the battle ends.
  • Rocket Spear: Allows the Champion to attack targets within 10 tiles. Her attacks also deal splash damage and increase DPS, further increasing her offensive power.

Alternate Best Equipment (Epic and Non-Epic)

The game also has alternative equipment available for Heroes, but they won’t be as effective as the ones listed above. That doesn’t mean they aren’t viable choices though. Players should go with these if the better gear they want isn’t available or fully upgraded yet. Epic Gear is generally more costly to upgrade, so players should expect to get stuck on using Blue items for a while before they can optimize their sets. Here are the best alternatives for each Hero.

Barbarian King

  • Earthquake Boots
  • Rage Vial
  • Fire Fist
  • Battle Shield

Archer Queen

  • Frozen Arrow
  • Giant Arrow
  • Rage Gem

Minion Prince

  • Henchmen Puppet
  • Dark Orb

Grand Warden

  • Eternal Tome
  • Healing Tome
  • Fireball
  • Rage Gem
  • Life Gem

Royal Champion

  • Hog Rider Puppet
  • Seeking Shield
  • Rage Gem
  • Giant Shield

Note: Players can’t use the same equipment on different Heroes simultaneously. If another unit already uses one item, you won’t be able to give it to another.
