Phainon’s Relic Setup
There are different relic sets depending on the slot and also different stats possible on them. You have the Cavern Relics which are head, chest, feet and hands slot that form 2-set and 4-set bonus and the Planar Ornaments which are the middle slots of link rope and sphere that form 2-set bonus. The relic sets are important, no doubt, but as much important is having the correct stats on them and honestly do not compromise on that when it comes to level up your relics unless they show promise to have the ideal stats! This is our recommendation:

Please make sure to check the priority marks! If a stat has the high priority flag
next to it, this stat absolutely needs to be on the item, no exception. You will not hit your goal stat without. Stats flagged with medium priority
are mandatory if you use the character for PvP or you’re looking for a core character. Low priority flags
are good and should be on your list but if the other priority stats in place I would neglect that in most cases.
Trace Build For Phainon
Often underestimated but in reality one of the biggest traps when building your characters in Honkai: Star Rail and the biggest mistake many players make is spending TOO MUCH in the traces for either stats they don’t need or for skills that don’t scale well and then they end up without resources and stuck.
We have below the ideal path of investment and trace levels that make sense (for PvP and for PvE) that give you the sweetspots of investments, also called biggest bang for your buck. Here’s the reason:
- Diminshing Returns: the vost for every level raises exponentially but gives the same increase for a skill in terms of scaling. As a broad example Upgrading a skill trace from Level 8 to Level 10 costs the same as Upgrading that trace from Level 1 to Level 8 but only gives the same improvement as the upgrade from Level 1 to Level 3. This is why seetspots are the key for progress here!
- How important are the trace nodes: Some skills make the majority of a characters kit and effect while others are barely leaving a mark or impact while the upgrade costs are the same. This is why the importance and recommended level or each trace node is different for each character. Most sources give you a Do this skill over that skill as recommendation which is laughable little advice. Our builds give you exact recommendations which nodes to pick and which not for faster progress.
For that reason we have here full Traces setups that show you what nodes are a priority and what level you should upgrade them for depednign if you use your character for PvE modes only or also in PvP where the upgrade threshold needed often times is different!
