For the last base of 2021, I wanted to play around with some different things and the intersection wall in the core was quite promising and attackers seem to have problems dealing with it properly. Other than that, defensive features of this base are pretty standard for Builder Hall 9 so it has your back while you do your Versus Battles, even above 5000+ trophies.

I don’t think I need to say much more about this kind of bases, they really work effectively at Builder Hall 9 (especially when you’re maxed) and are the ones you should run. I always play around with different perimeter setups and this one here was working pretty well.

I admit I was getting a little bored by the general base layouts you see at Builder Hall 9 which are pretty much the same so I played around with some alternative setup to loosen up the ends a little bit and it turned out that it worked quite well so give this design here a try.

Those intersections on the outside line of compartments are something I really worked on recently and tweaked and it seems that more and more attackers at Builder Hall 9 have problems with it, so this base will give them a hard time.

A layout that is more “classic” for BH9 after I had several alternative layouts. The reason is that I experimented around and found a way to make a really solid base with the classic all-in core and the perimeter around that worked so well that I decided to make it this week’s BH9 base design.

This layout does fusion several defensive concepts for BH9 very well. You have the perimeter but compared with the open entry sections and the open compartments around. The goal is to make the troops AI go wild and give the attacker a real hard time timing and executing the attack right and small mistakes will lead to a fail, and from the view of the defender that’s what will give you the edge.

I don’t think I need to tell much about the general design style of this BH9 base. most in the core, funneling perimeter and fine-tuning the traps is what made this base survive well in the highest trophy ranges for me.

Here’s a tweaked version of the BH9 base we had last month with some improvements that make the traps more efficient and also make troop funneling stronger. This helps especially against the attack styles you see a lot for Builder hall 9.

Here’s a new approach of a base that worked really well for me recently where you don’t have a large center compartment with all defenses, this BH9 base uses more sections to force the attacker to do a more timed attack without send everything all-in. Most attackers aren’t that used to deal ith it so you have a good chance to score well with this base.

I know the meta at BH9 is the large center compartment but this one here is a really effective beauty, also because many attackers just got so used to running aginst the same base style over and over again at Builder Hall 9. You have a diamond/ring hybrid setup here and I can promise you that it is effective.

This new BH9 has a inset path inside the core that will help funnel troops and make it harder to attack from these sides. Along with the other side perimeter compartments you will get a great grouping of attacking troops that will make it easier for your defenses in the core to deal with.

Here’s a new base that I found working really well, up to the higher trophy ranges when you’re maxed BH9 as well. The core is with an open section that is designed with the extra corner which works really well with the troop pathing AI right now. Attackers will have a hard time and those trying to attack from the bottom side will have a hard time dealing with that tesla and traps as well.

From the last base I made some tweaks by adding an extra layer of walls on the Builder Hall side and rotating the other side into the corner to prevent the attacker from building a proper funnel. Worked really well. Make sure to place the base in the corner for the best results, you can also rotate it to make attackers not recognize it.

Here’s a BH9 base that works with open spots towards the core, this is really effective as it will prevent the attacker to build the funnel where he wants, you’re forcing troops through he sections you have open and the troops will go into the defenses and traps a lot more effectively. Make sure to place the base in the corner to prevent that the attacker can comfortably build up a good funnel on the sides.

There’s not much change in the defensive meta at BH9 recently but here’s another base to keep things fresh. It’s not that much changed from the previous base but there are some twists in the perimeter to make funneling into the core more squishy for the attacker and grouping up troops more.

We saw a trend in bases that start splitting the perimeter more and more, but this base here succeeds with the simple approach, the classic BH9 approach. No open entrance points to the center, no fancy split sections in the outside ring, but really effective.

Ring bases become more and more popular in BH9 since the large-core layouts dominate the meta for months already and they gain popularity fast. This base is such a ring base where you have the core with the Builder Hall protected by an open ring that will mess with troop AI, groups up troops for the splash defenses and also holds some traps. Worked really well for me.

While we had a really stable meta in the past months when it comes to defending at BH9, this base here will switch things up a little bit with the outside compartments and the open sections into the core. Here we have quite a classic BH9 setup with the classic meta defensive mechanisms we have seen in the past weeks and months. One large core with all defenses (make sure you have them upgraded well to really make this work) and a bulkhead perimeter around that core that keeps attacking troops busy and groups them up for your splash defenses.

We’ve seen lately how effective the wall section spikes inside the center core area of a BH9 can be in messing with the troop’s AI – with this base design you have even an open spot along with the bulkhead wall section in there that keeps messing with funneling troops into the core and even inside the core really effectively.

I don’t think we need to talk about how the current meta BH9 defense mechanics work with basically all buildings inside a huge core to force attackers to go into a situation they can’t control much with a perimeter that simply annoys breaking into the base. This base here although has entry points and wall sections inside the core to distract troops from the Builder Hall which worked really great in my tests.

These kind of bases are meta for Builder Hall 9 right now where you have the single large core with all defenses that will force the attacker to go pretty much all-in with little space to play skill here when it comes to funneling or deployment timing. The outside will distract and mess with traps and as soon as the core is open the party get started and I haven’t seen a single 3-Star against this base.

Defending at BH9 often comes down to offense versus defense power so you want to make funneling into the core as messy as possible and then let all your defenses for what they have to decimate attacking troops before they get many buildings and the Builder Hall down. This base worked really well by protecting the entrance points and intelligent trap placement so I’ve not seen a single 3-Star against it while testing it.

This kind of diamond style base has some trash perimeter with intersection walls and a strong core that funnels attacking troops into the traps and Crusher for maximum protection. It worked well, against ground and air while using it and I had some nice results with it. Still, you need to have maxed defenses at least to be able to run this base properly, otherwise you will not have enough defensive power to fight off the attackers at BH9.

I really enjoyed using this base in the past days and I found that the walls on the outside somehow mess with Bomber AI effectively to make it a base that I can recommend at BH9. The base doesn’t look as much, I admit, but with that core design combined with the outside perimeter, attackers sometimes see a nasty outcome and with solid attacks from yourself you should be able to win a nice bunch of Versus Battles.

This base is straight to the point, no tricks around on the perimeter, just a couple of trash buildings to make funneling in the base not too easy and then it’s all about defensive power. You need maxed defenses or at least all defenses at Level 8 to be able to make this base work, but if you have that I can promise you that this base won’t let you down

This alternative version of the kind of bases with the large core you see a lot at Builder Hall 9 these days is really nice because the outside walls work really effective in making it the attacker hard to crack the inner section open and also messes with troop funneling quite well.
In the core, it’s all about defensive DPS and if you have upgraded your defenses well enough you will normally get away without getting 2-Starred (and 3-Star is impossible).

Builder Hall 9 Base – May 11th, 2020
Here we have a new BH9 base that worked quite well for me lately. The double-layer walls with the teslas prevent an easy access through the backdoor and the attacker has to go all-in coming form the south side of this base but won’t get through that center part to get enough percentage to make a good 2-Star attack.
On the other side the trash buildings and Crusher do work well on troops already and all the other defenses are pretty heavy so there’s almost no way to get to the Builder Hall for the 2-Star. Really nice layout at Builder Hall 9.

This is the kind of bases that dominate the top leaderboard right now and the defensive strategy here is quite simply but effective – you have the outside ring with several traps and trash buildings and then force the attacker to go full forces against all defenses at once in the core area.
This base works well if you have your defenses upgraded well, so with a rushed base you will have a hard time. But if you upgraded your defenses there’s not much tactic that the attacker can use, he simply has to go in and hope for a good result because there’s no funneling or anything else possible against that core layout.

Bases like this have become very popular amongst top players at Builder Hall 9 and this base here did make a great appearance on top of the leaderboard recently so you can use it in any trophy range you want, it will hold up pretty well.
The general setup is pretty easy, you have the outside ring to keep bombers busy and then let attacking troops walk into a line of traps before they enter the large core section where all the defenses will show what they got – and this works really effectively and requires the attacker to use perfect timing or lose some substantial parts of his army easily. Really worth using!

Here’s a really nice base for Builder Hall 9 that you will find helpful when pushing towards the 4k+ trophy range with great features against Hog Glider and Super Pekka. The general layout look simple but it’s effective with the large spot stuffed with defenses surrounded by multiple layers of walls and trash buildings to keep troops from entering the core straight.
You have the trash buildings that will not group up troops and make the strong defenses in your Builder Base more effective and many attackers have a problem to get the right path into the core to get more than a 2-Star out of it, if not just a 1-Star.

I really enjoyed using this BH9 base lately, especially because I liked the general layout plus the trap placement is really on point with traps in all spots that make perfect sense and are hard to predict/avoid.
You have some nice funneling and distraction features here and there are enough attackers that fall for this base to make it worth using at even the highest trophy ranges.

I know this sounds like clickbait now but this was one of the top bases of a global leaderboard player in last season and it looks pretty simple but it worked for several reasons.
the Jump traps separate the troops and the general setup requires hard funneling and wastes ground troops like crazy to effectively break into the core – from here’s just brute force attack power versus defense power and the defenses along with all the traps will do a deadly job.
I understand if you’re suspicious but this worked really great, especially because it was fresh to top players

I really like how this BH9 base works in terms of simplicity and effectivity with the outside layer and a really interesting trap farm in the left corner that attract enough attackers to have not only a real fun time watching but also get some defensive success out of it.
Don’t get fooled, this base here means business and there are a lot of attackers that get catches off guard and do horrible mistakes in the beginning of the attack. That’s where they leave troops on the table. Int he core section it’s raw attacking stats versus defensive stats and the more they lose beforehand the better for you as the defender here
