A new month means time for a new base design. I’m happy to announce that I was able to build a partnership with one of the best base designers out there – Scorpion Gaming. I have followed his channel for a long time now and featured some of his base layouts here and there. He’s really one of the best out there and actively uploads new bases very frequently. In case you don’t follow him, I recommend you check out his channel here.
January 2018 Favorite Base Layouts for TH8 to TH11
Before I start, I’d like to give you some advice. If you choose to use an internet base layout – they sometimes get very popular, so people learn to handle and beat them. It always helps to adapt them a little bit.
Make sure to adapt the trap setup after taking these bases – I wrote a full guide on that here (2nd part of the guide):
Here are the base layouts.
Most of the bases are from Scorpion Gaming’s channel on YouTube.

Town Hall 8 Farming, Trophy Base & War Base Layouts
Town Hall 8 Farming Hybrid Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): Here you see a base that can even withstand TH9 attacks sometimes.
This base works well against attacking compositions popular at TH8 Multiplayer like GoWiPe, Hogs & Valks and even Loon/Dragon combinations due to the compartment structure and the splash damage hitting mercilessly on troops hitting walls.
The Air Sweeper does a great job pushing away air troops from the Town Hall towards the southern part of the base and the Clan Castle is like an island in the middle making funneling more difficult than the attacker might think 🙂
Town Hall 8 War Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): Great to start 2018 with a fresh War Base, right? This one here will serve you well with the dead zones in between the compartments and extremely solid trap placement.
The corner compartments serve as bulkheads with the Storages to hold back troops and keep them in the damage radius of the other defenses.
The Hidden Tesla Farm around the Town hall will block any kind of cheap suicide run for the Town Hall and force the attacker to invest more troops than he would like to invest.
Town Hall 9 Farming, Trophy Base & War Base Layouts
Town Hall 9 Trophy Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): Island layouts are still a well-working thing in 2018 and this base here works great in keeping attacking troops out of the center compartment, especially because there’s nothing in there that could drag troop in rather than walking around it
This works well against ground attacks and air attacks as well.
Easily said, the only way to get the Town Hall is making a 3-Star attack which is nothing easy achievable against this base layout.
Town Hall 9 Farming Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): Protecting your Dark Elixir can be tough, but this base has got your back!
Don’t get a wrong impression that this base gets cracked easily by Earthquake Spells, the Hidden Teslas and other defenses right in front of the Dark Elixir Storage will take down troops so fast that the attacker won’t be able to see it coming.
Attacking this base from the back doesn’t make sense neither, because the attacker will give up on the Town Hall and has to go through both defensind Heroes and see his troops getting funneled to the sides due to the wall compartment structure.
Town Hall 9 War Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): This base here is an outstanding Anti 3-Star war base for TH9.
The compartments with the Giant Bombs make it extremely hard for the attacker to clean them with the massive loads of traps in there.
I have linked you a ton of defensive replays against many different troop compositions and I don’t think I have seen one single attack that was close to the 3-Star 🙂
Town Hall 10 Farming, Trophy Base & War Base Layouts
Town Hall 10 Dark Elixir Farming Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): Looking for a base that protects your Dark Elixir? Take this one 🙂
This base here works well because it has a ring outside the base plus a resource ring around the core compartments. Unlike many other bases with an island in the middle, there are many compartments in the core.
Any attacker has to deal with a lot of funneling steps to go for the core area and then still have many walls that will slow his troops down.
In the defensive replays, you see that the Dark Elixir Storage is extremely safe in the location it is, protected by all the defenses around it.
Town Hall 10 Trophy Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): This base is for trophy pushing, forcing attacking troops to go through the full trap party in the bottom side of the Town Hall or be in trouble coming from the top side through the Tesla Farm and empty compartments – funneling troops away from the core of your base.
Still, you migh want to try setting your Inferno Towers to single mode 🙂
Town Hall 10 War Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): I really like this war base layout here for TH10 and it works great against most attacks, especially Queen Walks.
Defending against Queen Walks works very good with this layouts’ awesome Air Defense placement – they are at the location where the Queen can’t reach them without going through the walls but they can still target the Healers and make a Queen Walk fail.
In addition, The X-Bows are placed in locations where they can cover almost the whole area all the time to keep DPS high on troops while they have to take long distances in the core area of this TH10 War Base Design.
Town Hall 11 Farming, Trophy Base & War Base Layouts
Town Hall 11 War Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): This War Base for TH11 is working good and the central defensive aspect is that it makes the Eagle Artillery extremely hard to reach and take out early in the attack.
In fact, when you watch the defensive replays you can see that all attackers had problems getting the Eagle Artillery down and that was their final reason why they failed getting more than 2 Stars against this base.
Also, the multiple layers in front of the Town Hall makes it expensive in troops to get the Town Hall for the 2-Star and not leaving enough power to take down the rest of the base 🙂
Town Hall 11 Dark Elixir Protection Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): In this Dark Elixir protection layout, you see an interesting approach.
The Dark Elixir Storage is on the backside, so there’s no easy way to attack it and even if someone wants to send air troops to get there, the X-Bows and Air Sweepers will prevent that.
Attacking from the bottom side is mandatory because of the Eagle Artillery, but this will lock the other part of the base with the Dark Elixir Storage for the attacker and save you a lot of Dark Elixir 🙂
Town Hall 11 Trophy Base – (click on the picture for a larger view): Pushing Trophies works well with this TH11 layout, proven in Legend League. This design uses a concept that has gotten more and more popular in the end-game range with dividing the base into a left and right section.
The concept behind this is to force the attacker to go through the left side with all the defenses to get 50% and eventually the Town Hall, but can’t reach the Eagle Artillery and a high risk of failing to get 1 Star.
The other side of the base would offer a path to the Eagle Artillery, but not enough structures to get 50% and no chance to funnel to the Town Hall.
This makes this base so effective against the most-frequently used attacking compositions at TH11 Titan+ League with Bowlers or Loons, as you can see in the replays I linked below the image of the base layout.
