Real Racing 3 Car Buying Guide

Here is a full guide what cary you need to get in Real Racing 3 to finish the career and bonus series.

I know many people think that they need to get all cars in Real Racing 3, but that is not correct. If you choose the right ones you can finish all the series and save a lot of cash.

Getting all cars will cost you R$45,643,695 & 78,710 Gold – without the upgrades. So, if you do not invest any real money you simply need to make smart car choices and that’s what I have here in my Real Racing 3 Car Buying Guide.

I have always kept in mind to only recommend you to buy cars that you need to finish a certain career series with available bonus series in mind – I call that smart skipping cars.

You will always need at least 2 cars to finish a series in general as the first car will not meet the PR required for the last races, even when being fully upgraded.

AMATEUR

The first category after you finished driving school. With a lot of bonus series you should start watching out to not buy every car available, there will be points later where you really need the R$ you start saving now (not even talking about the Gold).

Pure Stock Challenge Series

You need to Start with the Nissan Silva, but this won’t get you far so only do the upgrades you must to unlock the Ford Focus RS – the Ford will be able to get you the BMW 1 Series M Coupe unlocked. I’d recommend skipping the Dodge Charger as you will need to apply Gold upgrades to finish the last races in the Pure Stock Challenge series and you won’t need it for any bonus series as other cars in later career series will be better there.

Street-Spec Skirmish Series

Take the Skyline GT-R and upgrade is as far as possible and skip the Nissan 350Z. Then you should get the BMW Z4 M Coupe. You can finish the series by upgrading it to the max (but you need 8 Gold for 2 upgrades that you can’t buy otherwise, however a small price). Getting the Z4 SDrive 35i is not necessary as you can also use the 1 Series M Couple from the Pure Stock Challenge to finish the 6 Cyl Annihilation bonus series.

Bonus Series in AMATEUR

When you follow the above instructions you have the suiting cars already available:

  • Road Car International: Z4 M Couple from Stree-Spec Skirmish series
  • 6 Cyl Annihilation Series: BMW 1 Series M Coupe from the Pure Stock Challenge series will get you through all the races (you will need to use 7 Gold for the last upgrades but that’s worth it)
  • Global Production Pursuit: When you take the BMW Z4 M Couple like recommended above, you already have the best car available.

PRO/AM

V8 Naturals Series

The Dodge Charger R/T is the initial car and you can skip the Charger SRT8 as it is not strong enough to get to the last races. Next you should take the Lexus IS F but do not invest in the Gold upgrades. The Gold upgrades for this car could take you through the whole series but you should instead get the Cobra 427 (even though it costs 180 Gold), it will not require any Gold upgrades to finish the series and pay it back in the bonus series “The Legend Continues”.

Performance Rumble Series

You start off with the Dodge Challenger SRT8 and skip the Nissan 370Z. Then you should get the Ford Shelby GT500 as it will be great for the V8 Muscle Hustle and Couple Clash bonus series, although do not invest in the Gold upgrades. Only use the car until you unlock the M3 GTS. This car is a beast and also required in a couple other bonus and exclusive series.

Everyday Heroes

Start off with the Audi TT RS Coupe until you can get the BMW M6 Coupe. You should also invest the 33 Gold for all upgrades for the M6 Coupe and it will be strong enough to finish the whole series for you and you can skip the 911 GT3 RS.

Bonus Series in PRO/AM

With my recommendation in this guide here you are prepared for the bonus series:

  • AWD Attack: Uses an exclusive car that you need to buy
  • Road Flair: You have the Skyline GT-R from the Street-Spec Skirmish series
  • V8 Performance Brawl: Use the Shelby GT500 from the Performance Rumble series and wait for the later series that will give you the more powerful cars, do not invest Gold
  • V8 Muscle Hustle: As said above, the Shelby GT500 is a great choice and will bring you through the whole bonus series.
  • Prime Production Match-Up: You can finish this bonus series with the Z4 M Coupe from the Street-Spec Skirmish series
  • Coupe Clash: Again, you have the most powerful car with the Shelby GT500 in your garage
  • Classic Mazda Challenge: You need to buy the exclusive car
  • Skyline Classic Challenge: You need to buy the exclusive car
  • Hot Hatch Power Match: You can use the Ford Focus RS but you will need to buy the Megane R.S. 275 for 95 Gold later
  • Hot Hatch Power Match 2: When you buy the Megane R.S. you can finish the series with this car

PRO

Pro/Am Supercar Club Series

You start out with the Dodge Viper SRT10 and should upgrade it and keep it until you can buy the Nissan GT-R Premium, means you can skip the Ford GT. You also don’t need the Porsche Carrera GT as the Nissan GT-R Premium is able to finish the last races even without the Gold upgrades (but they make it easier) and the Modern Sport Car Classic bonus series.

Supercar Masters Series

The Lamborghini Gallardo is the starting car in this series and it will take you far enough to get the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0. The Porsche will also be very helpful for the Deutsch Duel bonus series but even with all upgrades it will not be strong enough to get the latest races, even with the Gold upgrades. You will need the Audi R8 V10 Coupe as well but also good enough to finish the V10 Showdown bonus series.

Classic American Muscle Series

Starting out with the Dodge Challenger RT and you can skip the Charger RT. The Cobra GT500 costs 80 Gold but is still a good investment. Otherwise you would need to pay 122 Gold to max out the Charger RT so it’s cheaper, makes it easier and you have a nice car for the Retro RWD Tour bonus series.

Bonus Series in PRO

Now let’s have a look at the bonus series, you already have pretty much the required cars you can have:

  • RWD Open Revolution: You have the BMW M3 GTS from the PRO/AM series that will get you through this bonus series
  • Modern Sport Car Classic: With the Nissan GT-R Premium from the Pro/Am Supercar Club series you can handle this bonus series pretty well
  • V10 Showdown: Buying the Audi R8 V10 Coupe  in the Supercar Masters series was smart and you can complete the bonus series with this car
  • Deutsch Duel: With the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 you already have the best car you can have for this bonus series
  • Retro RWD Tour: The Cobra  GT500 you bought is strong enough to finish the whole bonus series
  • E-Type Extravaganza: This exclusive series requires that you buy the car
  • GT4 Rebels: You need to buy the car but it’s quite expensive with 280 Gold
  • Japanese Production Club: As you skipped the 350Z in the Amateuer group, you should get the Lexus IS 350 F Sport and then wait until you can get the Mazda RX-7. It’s the best way as you need the Mazda anyway to complete this bonus series.
  • Renault´s Global Passion: You need to buy the car but it’s quite expensive with 260 Gold
  • Group A Grand Tour: You need to buy the car but it’s quite expensive with 280 Gold
  • Vintage Muscle: You already have the Cobra GT500 and it’s good enough to make it through the series

EXPERT

Accolade Open Series

The best strategy here is getting the Audi R8 LMS Ultra as it can be used in 5 more bonus series and you can skip the Porsche 918 RSR Concept that will cost 150 Gold on your way to get the BMW M3 GT2 ALMS. There’s an exclusive series for the 918 but you can puchase it later and the M3 is great for a lot more bonus series.

Prestige Powermatch Series

You have the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale and with all the Gold upgrades that you had to do to pass the Marquis World Championship challenge you can finish the whole series. Optionally you can also get the SL 65 AMG Black Series to help you out in other bonus series but this is not mandatory.

Aston Martin Expedition Series

After starting out with the Aston Martin DB9, you should skip the Vanquish and get the V12 Vantage S. You can save the Gold for the Vanquish as you don’t need it, not even in a later bonus series.

Bonus Series in EXPERT

Now let’s have a look at the bonus series, you already have pretty much the required cars you can have:

  • V10 Grand Open: You can start out with the Dodge Viper SRT10 from the Accolade Open but you will need the Audi R8 LMS Ultra later, but the Audi will help you in later bonus series so it’s not that bad to invest in that car.
  • Muscle and Prestige: This is not a nice bonus series and I’d recommend you to skip this one as it requires you to buy the Bentley Continental GT and further cars for Gold that you don’t necessarily need.
  • Factory Faceoff: You have the DB9 and the Lexus IS F from earlier career stations so you won’t have a problem finishing them.
  • Spadaconcept Supercar Showcase: You will need to buy the exclusive car for that
  • Luxury Tourer Tournament: With the DB9 and the Maserati GranTurismo you have two good cars in your garage to finish this bonus series
  • Track Aces: This is also a bad bonus series as it requires you to buy cars that you need to pay Gold for
  • Silvia R3 Spec World Series: You will need to buy the exclusive car for that
  • Porsche Supremacy: You can use the Cayman GT4 if you have it from the GT4 Renegades bonus series
  • Unleashed World Series: You have the Aston Martin DB9 so you can finish the series
  • Ultimate Vantage: I told you to get the V12 Vantage, right? Use it here and you’re good
  • Millennial Sports: I’d recommend you to wait until you unlock the Porsche 911 GT2 in a later series and then finish this bonus series

MASTER

Open Sky Challenge

You get the Ariel Atom 3.5 and should upgrade it until you unlock the Caterham Seven 620 R. The Caterham is the car that will let you finish the series but you need 237 Gold for that. Alternatively, I recommend you to not invest in the Gold upgrades and get the Ariel Atom V8 for 150 Gold and get only the necessary Gold upgrades, that will get cheaper.

Euro Supercar Duel

Both cars here are pretty similar and you only need one of them for this series – I recommend you to take the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG and max it out with the Gold upgrades. Don’t get the Bentley, it has not a higher power rating and you won’t get a real advantage from buying it.

Classic Ferrari Showdown

The F40 is your car of choice and you won’t need to buy the F50 with Gold to finish this series, rather use that Gold to max out the F40.

GT3 World Series

Use the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and skip the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 GT3 and then get the BMW Z4 GT3. The Z4 is strong enough to get you through the whole series and the Vantage GT3 will not give you any additional advantages in other bonus series so you can save the cash here.

Bonus Series in MASTER

Now let’s have a look at the bonus series, you already have pretty much the required cars you can have:

  • German Grand Tour: If you got the R8 V10 Coupe like I recommended earlier you can take it to win this challenge, however, you also got the Z4 GT3 that is pretty much the same power
  • Grip Fiends: You have the BMW M3 GT2 ALMS so you have the strongest car for that bonus series in your garage
  • Grand Tourer Supremacy Series: I recommended you earlier to get the Mercedes SL 65 AMG and this is the right car to do the job here
  • GTS Superseries: You will need to buy the exclusive car for that
  • Ferrari Heritage Hustle: You have the Ferrari 375 F1 already from the REdline Originals challenge
  • East/West Throwdown: You have cars to start it but later you will need the Nissan Sumo
  • Race-spec Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale World Tour: You will need to buy the exclusive car for that
  • 6 Cyl Mastery: This is a tricky one. Even if you have the Cayman GT4 you won’t make it very far here and need to buy the expensive Gold cars later
  • Open Sky Challenge II: You have the Caterham Seven 620 R so no worries you can finish this bonus series
  • Road vs Rally: If you decide to get the Lotus Exige for the 6 Cyl mastery bonus series you can finish this series as well
  • Japanese Ultra: Another nasty bonus series with only expensive cars that you can only buy with Gold

  1. Am I supposed to max out the Shelby Cobra GT500 in order to finish the bonus series with them? Are there any other cars in this guide that are worth maxing out?

  2. For the PRO bonus series involving the Shelby Cobra GT500, did you mean to imply that these series could be (nearly) finished through maxing out the Shelby? Is that a necessary inventment? Are there any cars in this guide that you would consider it beneficial to max out?
