What’s your biggest enemy in Clash of Clans when you attack? A solid base design, maxed defenses, Clan Castle Troops? No, all those things are something you can adapt to quite well, but there is one thing that you will struggle with every single attack, especially when you’re at higher Town Hall Level.
I’m talking about running out of time.
I don’t know how you guys are doing, but I always run out of time in most of my attacks. Especially since Supercell switched the attacking time back to 3 minutes. I think it’s time to put together some things that will help you manage time better in your attacks.
Saving Time In Attacks
I have put together some aspects of attacks that cost you time during and how you can make them work faster. Of course, not all situations apply to every attack or composition, but I’m sure you can get one or two to work if you find yourself constantly running out of time.
Drop Your Spells A Little Earlier
Some Spells last for a while and you can use them before the time they are needed. Perfect Spells for doing this are the Jump Spell and the Poison Spell.
Your first thought may be that this is not worth it because it won’t change anything. In fact, it does because in the case of the Jump Spell your troops will go directly there instead of cleaning one or two other structures before. The Poison Spell will instantly slow down and drain health from CC troops. You don’t have to wait until all CC troops reached the place where they will meet your attacking troops.
Another important fact when doing this is that you have less parallel work which means you can focus better on what you’re doing next instead.
Melding Troops & Phases Of Your Attack
In most attacking strategies you have different steps. Spare time in between these steps can be tightened and even completely done away with by using a few key tactics.
Here are some things you should always do.
If there are corner structures (most of the time simple Builder Huts or sometimes Storages in Clan War), you should drop your Archer or Minion directly in the beginning so they have plenty of time taking them out.
Clean Up Attacking
Many players wait until their kill squad is down before they start cleanup. In fact, you can deploy your cleaning troops right behind your kill squad because they can work on cleaning up instantly and save you a lot of time.
If there are structures outside the range of defenses you can directly deploy some Minions or Archers there while you also start your main attack.
If you time it right, these troops will take down the outside structures and then join your forces. Or maybe your other forces cleaned the defenses in front of them by the time they are finished. In any case, this will save you a lot of time.
Use Scouting Time
“I know that base layout, I can attack right away!” Is that something you say from time to time? Even if you know the base design, you should always take your scouting time. If there’s nothing left to scout, then go through your attacking plan step-by-step in your head one more time.
This can help you by attacking more fluidly.
Small tweaks can make your attacks faster. The most important thing that helped me a lot was sending in clean up troops way earlier, sometimes even together with my first wave of troops.
