Did you know that millions of players use their Windows PC or Mac to play Clash of Clans? Millions! Of course, there are multiple ways to do this, but you can do a lot of things wrong that will hurt your gaming experience when playing CoC on a PC/Mac. In this guide, I will show you all you need to know when you want to play Clash of Clans on your PC or Mac – including the best tools to use, step by step how to do it and some gameplay tips as well.
Playing Clash of Clans on Windows PC or Mac – Why & How?
Clash of Clans is a mobile game, designed to be played on touch devices, but there are many reasons why people are using their traditional PC, Notebook, Macbook etc. to play the game.
- Finally a big screen (the game look stunning on big screens!)
- Managing multiple accounts easily
- Some use it at e.g. at work, where they don’t have WiFi/Internet connection on their mobile devices
- Play without getting interrupted by messages & phone calls
- People with no up to date smartphone
- Clash of Clans is not available on Windows Phone, but you can use your PC to play it
- Stable recording (Youtubers)
This list could go on and on, the important thing is that you can play the game will the full features on a PC without any problems.
I recommend that you try it out once, maybe you also enjoy the benefits 🙂
Getting Banned For Playing CoC on PC/Mac?
The most important question first, the reason why many don’t try it – are you getting banned for playing Clash of Clans on a PC or Mac?
The answer is NO!
I know there are many people out there telling that this will get you banned, but it’s not true. Supercell only sated that they don’t support you in case of problems when you don’t use an Android or iOS device, that’s all.
The thing is, if you do it properly (like shown below in this guide), you will not have any problems. In fact, how often did you need direct support from Supercell? I never needed it in 4 years, to be honest… and even when I would, I simply wouldn’t tell them that I play on a PC 😉
Attention! Do NOT intall any hacks/mods, this will get you banned! But that will also get you banned when playing on Android or iOS devices…
Step By Step Guide To Play Clash of Clans on PC & Mac
Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your PC/Mac and then you can install Clash of Clans there and use it – you see you’re actually playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.
If you use iOS, no problem – you can also connect your village with the emulator (read more about it below).
Emulator Test – Bluestacks VS Andyroid
In the past years most used Bluestacks to play Clash of Clans on PC and Mac, but this was more from a lack of alternatives.
Don’t get me wrong, Bluestacks is stable but in fact, it’s an emulator for developer to test out their apps. From my experience I have seen multiple problems with Bluestacks:
- Installation can be sometimes difficult (missing Play Store, Error Messages, etc.)
- hungry in performance, my computer is pretty busy when Bluestacks runs
- lags & crashes from time to time
Now, there’s a new emulator out there that was designed for playing games on PC and Mac – it’s called Andyroid and I have been trying it out in the past weeks and I’m extremely positive surprised!
The installation is really easy, setting up your Clash of Clans account takes only a few minutes and I didn’t see any errors or crashes or even lags so far – this makes the overall gaming experience a lot better.
It also requires less power than Bluestacks and you can set it up to run smoothly on your PC/Mac.
Here’s how you do it at a glance:
Download Andyroid here / Install it
- Start Andyroid
- Log in to your Google Play Account (or create a new one)
- Download Clash of Clans
- Connect your village (or start a new one)
Now every step with more details.
Step 1: Download & Install Andyroid
Click here to download Andyroid and install it – there’s nothing to say about it.
Step 2: Start Andyroid & Log In
Once installed, you only need to start Andyroid and it will ask you to log in to your Google Account (or create a fresh one).
If you want to play your village you already have, you need to log in or otherwise if you like to start a new village, you need to create a new Google Account.
If you play on iOS, you need to create a new Google Account and you can link your village later (see Step 4).
Step 3: Install Clash of Clans in Andyroid
Now you can simply open up the Play Store in Andyroid and search for Clash of Clans – then you only need to install it and you’re done.
Step 4: Connect Your Village
If you want to play with your existing village, you can connect it.
Go in your Clash of Clans Game on your mobile device and go to Settings
There you’ll find the “Link A Device” Button. Click it.
Then choose the “This is the OLD Device” and follow the instructions. Now you’re ready to play Clash of Clans on Mac or PC.
