The Resource Ring Base Layouts have been very popular since 2015 and a lot of Clashers still use them. There are many variations, but the core idea is always the same. In this post, I want to show you how you can win against this base, in Clan War or regular Multiplayer Battles.
Here’s one variation of the base:
Many use this kind of base layout at Town Hall 11, but I will handle that in a dedicated post in the future because the Eagle Artillery forces some adjustments for attacking.
The Resource Ring Bases
First of all, I want to explain why this base is so effective and popular.
The base has two very good defensive spots that many Clashers don’t handle correctly. One is the corner compartments that will catch your Golems if you deploy them at the wrong place – once stuck in there the attack is ruined!
The other effective part is the ring of resource buildings around the core. It will make your Golems and other defensive troops go around the core, instead of entering it. This might result in getting only 1 Star or maybe even no Stars.
How To Beat It
The best way to beat this kind of base is GoWiPe. The trick in cracking this kind of base is creating a funnel on the inside. You will attack from 2 directions to accomplish that and the rest of the attack is pretty simple.
Again, this is a guide against TH10 Resource Ring bases – it will not work on a TH11 Resource Ring base with an Eagle Artillery!
Here’s the army you will need:
- 5 Golems + 1 Golem in your Clan Castle
- 1 PEKKA (in case your Barbarian King is lower than Level 30) or Witches
- 14 Wizards
- 3 or 4 Jump Spells
- 1 or 2 Freeze Spell
- 1 Haste Spell or 1 Poison Spell
The setup really depends. If you have a lower level Barbarian King, you should definitely bring a PEKKA so you have enough tanking power on the battlefield.
Jump Spells are your choice. Entering the base at 3 spots is more comfortable in my opinion, because you will always have your inside funnel over the resource ring. Of course, it also works with 3 Jump Spells, but I like the few seconds of break in Step 2 (see below).
Let’s take a look at the step-by-step attacking plan. I used one of my clan mate’s replay with lower level Heroes so you can see that it also works with them.
Step 1: Drop the Jump Spells and your Golems
As I mentioned before you will enter the base from 2 sides and the best way to do this is by using 2 or 3 Jump Spells (yes, you will save 1 Jump Spell for entering the core). Always drop them around a corner because this will create your funnel to the inside – never enter this base at only one spot!
The Golems will enter the base and also trigger the Clan Castle. This gives you the advantage of dealing with the Clan Castle troops on the outside ring and not in the area with heavy defensive fire.
Step 2: Funnel With Wizards
The next step is the classic GoWiPe move – funneling with Wizards. Drop them in 2 rows on the outside where you located your Jump Spells.
Once the funnel is set, you can deploy your Heroes and also your PEKKA and they will move into the outside ring.
Now you have a couple seconds to watch your attack until your troops clear out most of the base.
Step 3: Enter The Core
Now it’s time to drop your Jump Spell to go for the core and the Town Hall. Drop it on the corner in between the two areas where you started your attack. That’s the point where most of your troops should be located now.
Now you will see most of your Golems and your Heroes move into the core. The Golems distract the defenses while the other troops will destroy the core and the Town Hall.
To be honest, I once struggled with these kinds of bases when they started becoming popular. If you have learned how to outsmart these kind of bases you will win against them every single time – and I promise you will see them a lot in multiplayer attacks and also in Clan War.
